Our Story
Welcome to Memphis Archery! Where high-quality coaching meets you where you are, whether you’re a beginner embarking on a new journey or a seasoned athlete looking to improve your aim. My name is Sarah Rohde! To the athletes I coach, I’m Ms. Sarah, Coach Sarah, Coach, or my preference, Sarah.
Archery has played a major role in my life for over 15 years. As an athlete, a coach, and a business owner, there has never been a moment when I wasn’t involved in the sport. In 2018, I was approached by four young girls who needed archery merit badges for their American Heritage Girls Program. What started as an opportunity for me to share a sport that I’m passionate about, quickly became a business endeavor to fill a void in the Memphis Area. Archery programs were far and few between, new athletes had nowhere to start and no one to instruct them. So, Memphis Archery was born.
Five years later, Memphis Archery is embarking on a new adventure: financing a brand-new archery facility in the Bartlett area. This facility will provide more than a place for archers to practice. It will provide new opportunities for many, foster community, and help a unique sport grow.
Your contribution is more than investing money. By investing in the start-up of the Memphis Archery Range, you are investing in our community, our youth, and the future of a sport.
What We Need
To turn this venture into reality, Memphis Archery is seeking your support in raising the necessary $100,000 starting fund. These funds will kickstart a project that is more than just another business.
Here’s a breakdown of how your contribution will be utilized:
- Quality Equipment (50% – $50,000): A safe environment with exceptional equipment is vital to having an amazing archery experience. Your donation will be invested in high-quality safety measures, bows and arrows, targets, and more. Enabling enthusiasts of all skill levels to learn, practice, and excel.
- Effective Marketing (15% – $15,000): First impressions are important. Your contribution will help us to launch a marketing campaign that will promote inclusivity from youth to senior, from bowhunter to recreational to competition, from the boy/girl scouts to the veteran associations. Individuals and groups of all backgrounds will be invited to join the archery community.
- First Month Rent, Deposit, & Security (25% – $25,000): Location is vital to the success of any business. Your investment will cover not only the first month rent and deposit, allowing us to provide an ideal space for our archery community, but will also allow us to install a state-of-the-art security system to protect our new home.
- Creating a Lasting Impact (10% – $10,000): Going beyond the immediate needs of Memphis Archery, your support will contribute to growing and supporting collegiate archery at the University of Memphis where our youth can continue to pursue their talents.
When you invest in the Memphis Archery Range, you are investing in a program that will build community, pave the way for dreams, and shape a future for the sport of archery in the Memphis Area. Join us in kick-starting this journey and be part of something truly amazing.
Risk Management of Your Investment
We’ve built the client roster, obtained the business license, found the facility, crunched the numbers, and formed the business plan. All that is left is to overcome one last obstacle. Due to being a new business, obtaining financial backing from traditional banking options is proving to be difficult. This has not deterred the passion and determination that I have for keeping archery in the community but has fueled my drive to find a way to fund this venture.
As mentioned, my name is Sarah Rohde. I’m an athlete, a coach, a business owner, a fiancée, a daughter, and a friend. My archery career has been an interesting one. I hold over 10 Tennessee State Archery Champion titles, 2 Tennessee State Silver Medals, a National Championship Silver Medal, and several others. In 2010, I ranked 15th in the Nation in my division of athletes and attended several Junior Elite Training Camps in high school where I learned from many elite athletes and coaches, including the USA Archery Olympic Head Coach, KiSik Lee. My education includes a degree in Sport Business and Marketing from the University of Tennessee at Martin, a Level IV Coaching certification from USA Archery, SafeSport certifications, CPR certifications, and an ISSA Personal Trainer certification with specialties in a variety of areas. Over the years, Memphis Archery has grown from 4 athletes to over 60. Additionally, I have provided coaching and insight for HomeLife Academy, UT Martin, Veteran programs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and many other programs.
With my years of knowledge and experience in managing Memphis Archery, the expansion to Memphis Archery Range is not merely a project driven by passion. It’s a venture that will become a successful enterprise.
Your support goes beyond funding; it indicates a confidence in my capabilities and the promise of Memphis Archery Range’s potential. Your investment is an investment in my experience, knowledge, and passion. Together, we’ll build a thriving archery community for Memphis and surrounding areas to enjoy.
