From rock & roll to hip-hop, the concept of customizing jackets reached a variety of communities. Although art styles differed across communities, they all used custom jackets as a form of self expression. As artists in the hip-hop community, we saw painted art on the back of clothing often at competitions and parties. Unfortunately, the paint on the jackets cracked, peeled,  and people grew tired of continuously wearing the same art. 

We wanted to innovate the jacket to one that kept up with its history, supported artists, and is sustainable. We envisioned a jacket with art that would last a lifetime and enabled you to create again and again — hence “The Endless Canvas”.   

We’ve spent over two years researching and developing an attachment system that finally passed the test. We discovered that using both zippers and velcro with strategic pattern making was crucial to success.

We created over 25 prototypes, wore them outside, danced in them, and improved it to the jacket you see today. Premium quality, comfort, and beautiful art – all seamlessly integrated.

 

We’re Jane So and Lake Siva, and we founded Creator in 2017.  We’re Canadian born artists and entrepreneurs, with a passion for urban art and creative design. For over 2 years, we’ve spent every waking minute learning the ins and outs of the denim jacket. After 25+ prototypes, the Creator jacket was born.

The name Creator stems from our desire to bring something new to the table.
