After years of research, waste fruits and plants can be recycled into wearable materials: bio-materials. We pioneer bio-materials to replace leather and plastic that are planet killers. MoEa sneakers are crafted from them so they are low carbon, animal-free and recyclable.

• From the Italian juice industry, we create Apple Sneakers 
• From the Italian wine industry, we create Grape Sneakers 
• From the Mexican desert, we create Cactus sneakers
• From the pineapple leaves in Philippines, we create Pineapple Sneakers
• From non-edible American corn, we create Corn sneakers

MoEa is a French based company. Our materials are made in Italy and the sneakers are ethically crafted in Portugal. 

Durable? Hell yes. MoEa sneakers are made to last. Our materials passed all flexible and abrasion tests. They are as robust as leather, without the drawbacks.

All our materials follow strict sustainable guidelines.

After years of research by our leather-alternative suppliers, waste of fruits and plants are recycled and colored to give birth to wearable materials. The biomass is blended with stabilizers like organic cotton or bio-PU or recycled plastic depending on each plant.

Our Life Cycle Assessment made by certified agency CLIMATE PLUS shows bio-materials emit 89% less CO2 than leather. 

We have been testing MoEa sneakers for over a year and they are as robust and durable as leather:

• Abrasion resistance tests on bio-materials have shown their robustness: MoEa abrasion resistance > 50.000 cycles – like leathers.
• Our soles are made from recycled and natural rubber, the most durable soles material. 
• MoEa soles are sewn to the upper so they never tear off. 

At MoEa, we know how important it is to be conscious of waste. We have developed a new process to recycle old MoEas into new soles. By doing so, we save up to 40% of rubber in each pair of soles. In exchange for your return, we will thank you with a 10% discount code. 

We believe in a future were we will only use materials that do not require animal testing, animal death nor damage to the planet. MoEa was audited and is certified vegan by PETA. No animals were involved in the production of our sneakers.

We are part of WWF French Start-Up Club recognizing our social and environmental commitment. We donate 1% of our annual sales to WWF Forest Protection program.

We are living in a world where workers in shoe factories are most of the time just considered as machines. They are underpaid, even sometimes not paid at all and they work in terrible conditions.  

MoEas are handcrafted in Porto – Portugal – by skilled shoemakers in a committed workshop respecting all European labor standards. We are very proud to say that all the workers in our factory are fairly paid and work in respectful conditions. 64% of them are women. Our production process is chromium-free and our shoe factory uses 100% renewable energies.

MoEa was founded by Achille Gazagnes, Benoit Habfast and Simon de Swarte in September 2020 in Paris, France. We are sneaker addicts and have several years of experience working in the industry, most recently at a French footwear company. We founded MoEa all with one objective in mind: bringing people sustainable fashion without compromising on style. MoEa is now composed of a team of 7 people aged from 24 to 29, who all want to bring together fashion and the environment.

Our warehouse is located in France so we can offer dutty free shipping to all European countries. Backers with a shipping address in any of these 28 countries will NOT have to pay any additional duties, sales tax, VAT, etc. It’s all included!
