The distillation is first initiated with a temperature between 80 and 85 degrees. Gradually, steam is formed. It then deposits itself onto the plants and captures all their aromatic molecules. Afterwards, it condenses by passing through a refrigerant. As the steam comes into contact with it, it cools and then liquefies to produce the distillate, which we collect in a container shortly afterward. As a result of this vacuum distillation, circle cooling system, and oil-water separation, our organic Lavender essential oil, and hydrosol, both 100% natural and organic, are obtained in a short time. This unique technique mainly allows us to preserve the finest organoleptic properties of the plants for superior end products.

Two of MUFEE’s key design features address the water wastage issue common in traditional distillation systems. Firstly, our condenser utilizes a closed-loop cooling system, eliminating the need for a constant water supply. Secondly, we employ vacuum pressure to physically separate oil and water, replacing the traditional method of running tap water. In traditional distillation, consuming over 20L of water to distill just 1L of material is not uncommon. MUFEE, however, achieves zero water waste. Furthermore, MUFEE’s distillation and infusion functions allow users to transform fresh flowers or unused spices into fragrant essential oils, promoting resource conservation.

MUFEE distilled essential oil is designed to add up to 1L of water. Under normal circumstances, the extracted spices are enough. However, to make the essential oil extraction more efficient, we are equipped with a 350ML water replenishing tank. When extracting essential oils, please check in advance whether the water replenishing tank is sufficient. It is recommended to use distilled water.

Many essential oils need to be diluted to help with its tolerability and minimize the chances of irritation. This can be done by mixing it with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, argan oil, grapeseed oil, or avocado oil. After dilution, she recommends doing a small patch test first to gauge how your skin will react to the mixture. If there isn’t any irritation, then you can start applying it on larger areas.

Johns Hopkins Medicine cites aromatherapy accessories (such as bracelets that can absorb essential oils for you to sniff throughout the day) and aroma sticks as the best ways to use essential oils through aromatherapy.

Essential oil and hydrosol extraction share a common starting point: steam. However, the end products differ significantly. Essential oil extraction involves a high-temperature process that isolates the concentrated aromatic compounds of the plant, resulting in a viscous oil. Hydrosol extraction, conversely, produces fragrant water that retains many of the plant’s water-soluble properties.

Rosewater, a natural hydrating powerhouse, locks in moisture, leaving your skin supple and refreshed. A single 150ml bottle can last up to 15 days, making it both efficient and affordable.

Disinfection: Spray your garments from 20-30cm away to prevent oversaturation. Target areas like collars and cuffs where odors tend to linger. Ironing after application enhances fragrance diffusion.

Sleep Aid: Lavender and chamomile in our hydrosol promote relaxation and restful sleep. Avoid over-spraying to prevent overpowering scents.

MUFEE was born out of our extensive collaboration with the vast agricultural and horticultural communities in Utah. Our team is passionate about nature and believes in the power of plants. We’re inspired by their life-giving energy and their constant striving towards the sun. Since some of us also love to cook, we decided to create a 2-in-1 machine that combines our love for nature, healthy living, and food. 

We recognized the limitations of traditional distillation methods, including operational complexity, safety risks, water wastage, and low extraction efficiency. We also noticed that the full potential of essential oils and infused oils wasn’t being realized due to the challenges associated with their extraction.

Our team sought to address this by developing a user-friendly, high-quality extraction and infusion machine suitable for home, restaurant, bar, and small workshop settings. We collaborated with professionals and traditional users to identify the pain points of copper pot stills, such as complex setup, space requirements, and water consumption.

Our solution combines the heating needs of extraction and infusion with electronic temperature control and a closed-loop cooling system to create a safe, efficient, and energy-saving device. Through rigorous testing and refinement, we’ve achieved a balance between ease of use and professional performance.
