NFT-Minter: Making NFT creation simple for designers

Hi, I’m Christina, the founder of NFT-Minter! And this is the story of how my mischievous cat, Joey, unintentionally inspired me to create a tool that empowers designers and artists to effortlessly generate and mint NFT collections – without writing a single line of code.

It all started with a cat and a dream

Two years ago, I had a great vision – creating a 10K NFT collection called “The Joey-Story,” inspired by my mischievous cat, Joey. You see, Joey is not just any cat. He’s the type who thinks gravity is optional and believes that 3 AM is the purr-fect time for a parkour session using my back and ribs as his trampoline. He demands cuddles, scratches me when he’s had enough, then snuggles back in like nothing happened. He loves napping on my lap, hates being alone, and just enjoys having someone around – even if it’s just to serve as his furniture. Oh, and my laptop keyboard? His personal nap throne. Naturally, I wanted to share my daily Joey-dose within unique affectionate NFTs with the world and that’s how the idea of creating “The Joey-Story” was born.

As a graphic designer with no programming experience, I naively thought: “How hard can it be to generate and mint 10,000 NFTs?” Spoiler alert: Very hard.

When I wanted to start my NFT project, “The Joey-Story,” there was no user-friendly and simple solution available. I dived headfirst into no-code YouTube tutorials, trying to piece together different tools. But I quickly realized that everything was either too complex, too expensive, or required coding skills I didn’t have. Meanwhile, Joey – completely unaware of my struggles – continued living his best life, knocking over my coffee while I struggled to write JSON files.

Then it hit me: Why wasn’t there a simple, user-friendly tool for designers? A tool that lets you focus on the artwork instead of battling complicated scripts?

And so, NFT-Minter was born and Joey was my energetic project partner throughout!

What is NFT-Minter?

NFT-Minter is a Photoshop plugin combined with a WebApp that allows designers and artists to easily generate and mint NFT collections using the ERC-721A smart contract—without the need for coding. It’s designed to remove technical barriers and make NFT creation simple and accessible.

• No coding required – Because let’s be real, most designers don’t want to touch Solidity.
• No confusing setup – Install the plugin, import your trait files, and generate your collections.
• No overpriced subscriptions – We believe in fair pricing for artists and creators.
• Privacy first – All exported files are stored locally on your device, not in any centralized database. Later, they can be securely stored on IPFS, a decentralized network, ensuring your privacy is always protected.

Why LITE, PRO, and ULTIMATE?

Initially, NFT-Minter was planned as a complete, all-in-one solution. Unfortunately, working a full-time job while developing NFT-Minter in my spare time and financing everything myself, I eventually ran out of funds. However, I still wanted to share my progress with the community. That’s why I decided to release NFT-Minter Lite – a free version offering about 20% of the intended functionality. It allows designers to combine trait files and generate up to 5,000 unique images, but lacks metadata export, advanced rarity settings, and direct blockchain minting. Additionally, I’ve planned the NFT-Minter ULTIMATE package, which offers a fully managed service – from custom trait design to minting. This ultimate solution is purr-fect for anyone who is not an artist or prefers not to create their own trait files. Here, I personally leverage my graphic design skills to create unique trait files, manage the entire NFT creation process, and handle seamless blockchain integration, providing a complete end-to-end service.

Seamless Blockchain Minting with the WebApp

NFT-Minter PRO integrates directly with a WebApp, allowing users to:

• Choose between Polygon or Ethereum for minting
• Lazy minting – Mint only when needed to save upfront costs
• Batch minting – Mint many NFTs at once to reduce gas fees
• EIP-2981 royalty support for automatic royalty payments

For now, NFT-Minter focuses on art-based NFT collections using ERC-721A smart contracts, similar to projects from the creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club.

How does the tool work?

• Development (developer costs): €43,750 (35%)
• Server & IPFS hosting: €10,000 (8%)
• Marketing & advertising: €10,000 (8%)
• Legal & advisory expenses: €5,000 (4%)
• Contingency (unexpected costs): €6,250 (5%)
• Taxes & platform fees: €50,000 (40%)

Risks & Challenges

Building NFT-Minter has been an adventure filled with unexpected challenges. Some of the biggest hurdles we’ve faced:

• The IPFS problem – Initially, we used nft.storage for free decentralized storage, which allowed us to store NFTs in a secure and decentralized way. However, nft.storage has recently stopped supporting new uploads, which forced us to explore alternative storage options. To continue offering our service at an affordable price, we are planning to set up our own IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) node for handling the uploads. This will allow us to maintain control over the storage process and minimize costs while still ensuring decentralized and secure storage for our users. We understand that running our own IPFS node comes with challenges, such as ensuring consistent uptime, scaling, and managing potential technical issues. However, we are committed to address these risks by working with experienced developers and maintaining a robust infrastructure to ensure the long-term viability of our solution.
• The rarity calculation nightmare – One of the unexpected challenges we faced was assigning accurate rarity levels to various trait files and trait groups while ensuring the statistical integrity of all possible combinations. What seemed like a straightforward task quickly turned into a complex mathematical puzzle, involving intricate probability and statistical calculations. With the help of a PhD expert in Statistics, we successfully refined our probability models and verified the accuracy of our calculations. Now, the final step is to properly implement this system into NFT-Minter PRO. However, this requires additional development work, and to make that happen, we need funding to cover the development costs. With your support, we can bring this feature to life, ensuring precise and fair rarity assignments for all trait files and enhancing the overall user experience.
