Open Space Arts (OSA) is managed by Edutainment Productions Inc., a pioneering 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to blending education with entertainment to create innovative and immersive experiences.

We have engaged with artists and performers from up and down the East Coast, drawing talent from various corners of the D.C. Metropolitan area to our space prominently through visual and applied arts. 

However, we’ve recognized a critical need through listening to the voices of our community: The inability to provide performing and literary artists with the spotlight and environment necessary to fully connect with their audiences.

Additionally, we were told that our audiences and art appreciators yearn for a more immersive and captivating experience. 

That’s why we’re embarking on The Cabaret Project—to reimagine our flex studio space into a dynamic cabaret venue that not only showcases talent but also fosters genuine connections between performers and audiences. A cabaret space puts you in the performance rather than you only seeing it from a distance as another number. 

With your support, we’ll create an atmosphere where creativity thrives, performances shine, and unforgettable memories are made. Join us in building a community where everyone’s voice is heard and celebrated.

What We Need & What You Get From It:

We need $80,000 to bring this vision to life by September of 2024. Funds will go towards renovating the space, acquiring equipment, and booking artists from all over the East Coast. 

Perimeter stage curtains: $32,000

Theatrical Lighting: $12,000

Electrical Services: $5,000

Marketing: $16,000

Food and Refreshments: $2,500

Booking Acclaimed Performers: $12,500

Contributors will receive exclusive perks like VIP tickets to performances, behind-the-scenes access, recognition on our donor list and to exclusive donor events. The supporter who donates the most will win a free complimentary dinner to Mum Mums Thai Restaurant, a collaborator of Open Space Arts and Edutainment Productions Inc. that serves fine Taiwan cuisine located in Fairfax, Virginia as well as PERMANENT seats to all Cabaret experiences! (Must have contributed $5,000 or more)

All Contributors will be invited to an exclusive virtual sneak peek event before the grand opening, where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes tour of the cabaret space and meet the team.

2nd: Monthly Discovery Series – where we delve into the discovery of performing arts and the facets that encompass that encompass the rich tapestry of human expression and creativity

5th, 12th, 19th, 26th: Vocal Classes with Performance – where expert instructors guide you through dynamic vocal training sessions, culminating in live performances that showcase your newfound skills and confidence on stage

10th: Local Performance Opportunity – offers a stage for homegrown talent to shine, providing a platform for artists to showcase their skills and creativity, while fostering community connections and cultural enrichment through captivating performances

18th: Broadway Nights – Experience the magic of Broadway Nights: captivating performances, dazzling stories, and the thrill of the theater district, all in one unforgettable evening inspired by New York City

28th: Actors on Stage (Monologue Nights) – where talented performers take center stage to deliver captivating solo performances that bring stories to life with passion and depth, leaving audiences spellbound

29th: Jazz/Blues Nights – We highlight talented Jazz and blues players whether emerging or professional and experience the voice of brass instruments

By supporting our campaign, you’ll help us create a cultural hub where people can explore, learn, and be entertained in Northern Virginia. An opportunity given simply because we asked what the public wanted. Now we have given the opportunity to make that happen.

Risks & Challenges:

We are enthusiastic about embarking on this new venture, though we recognize the obstacles that lie ahead. Our confidence stems from having a skilled team well-versed in project management and event coordination. Among our team members are veterans of New York’s Broadway scene, as well as organizers of international events like the Pori Jazz Festival in Finland and the Perugia Jazz Festival in Italy, both renowned for their celebration of live jazz music and culture. With resilience and determination, we are ready to overcome any challenges we may face.
