Ostras! Ostras es una serie-documental de gastronomía y viajes compuesta de 6 episodios sobre uno de los crustáceos más exquisitos y desconocidos por el espectador, “las ostras”.

Oysters! The wonderful world of oysters is a gastronomy and travel documentary series made up of 6 episodes about one of the most exquisite and unknown crustaceans, “the oysters”.

Únete a Oscar en una aventura gastronómica sin igual recorriendo varios países buscando las diferentes variedades de ostras que existen y visitando los viveros donde las cultivan. Además de visitar restaurantes y mercados callejeros mientras se encuentra los mejores chefs que le harán descubrir un nuevo mundo de sabores preparándole recetas de lo más innovadoras y curiosas.

Join Oscar on a gastronomic adventure like no other, traveling through various countries looking for the different varieties of oysters that exist and visiting the oyster’s farms where they are cultivated. In addition to visiting restaurants and street markets while meeting the best chefs who will make you discover a new world of flavors by preparing the most innovative and curious recipes.

Durante los 6 episodios de la serie se realiza un recorrido por la historia de las ostras (edad media, Imperio Romano y actualidad), su tipo de cultivo y afinado que marcará su intensidad, sabor (yodadas, sabor a avellana…) y denominación de origen junto los tipos y tamaños que se pueden encontrar en diferentes países como las ostras gigantes de Japón o las ostras baby cocktail de Francia.

During the 6 episodes of the series there is a journey through the history of oysters (Middle Ages, Roman Empire and today), their type of cultivation and refining that will mark their intensity, flavor (iodized, hazelnut flavor …) and denomination of origin together with the types and sizes that can be found in different countries such as the giant oysters from Japan or the baby cocktail oysters from France.

La serie está rodada en España, Francia, Japón, Andorra, Estados Unidos y Australia. Países en los que el protagonista descubre la ostra Edulis también conocida como ostra europea, la ostra Olympia, la ostra Esmeralda que tiene la carne verde debido al alga “Navicula Blue” de la que se alimenta o la ostra “San Valentín” con forma de corazón especialmente hecha para esa festividad así como algunos crustáceos desconocidos como la “Patata de mar violeta” con un potente efecto afrodisiaco entre otros… Todo esto a la vez que visita los más curiosos Oysters Bars, restaurantes y mercados de cada ciudad acompañado de los mejores chefs.

The series is shot in Spain, France, Japan, Andorra, the United States and Australia. Countries in which the protagonist discovers the Edulis oyster also known as the European oyster, the Olympia oyster, the Emerald oyster that has green flesh due to the “Navicula Blue” algae on which it feeds or the “San Valentín” oyster shaped like a heart specially made for this festivity as well as some unknown crustaceans such as the “Violet Sea Potato” with a powerful aphrodisiac effect among others … All this while visiting the most curious Oysters Bars, restaurants and markets of each city accompanied by the best chefs.

Paralelamente a los tipos de ostras, también se profundiza en los aliños y en el nuevo concepto de preparación cada vez más de moda llamado “Creaciones” que son ostras gourmet dirigidas a la alta cocina preparadas por chefs especializados y hasta nos darán la receta!

Parallel to the types of oysters, it also delves into the dressings and the new increasingly fashionable preparation concept called “Creations” which are gourmet oysters aimed at haute cuisine prepared by specialized chefs and they will even give us the recipe!

Dentro de las creaciones podemos encontrar ostras con sopa de miso ahumada, ostras con perlas de mandarina y bergamota, otras con parmesano gratinadas con soplete, ceviche de otras con pulpo, gin tonic de ostras con frambuesas y así una gran variedad de nuevos sabores que enloquecerán al espectador.

Among the creations we can find oysters with smoked miso soup, oysters with mandarin pearls and bergamot, others with parmesan gratin with a blowtorch, ceviche of others with octopus, oyster gin and tonic with raspberries and thus a great variety of new flavors that will go crazy to the viewer.
