Phoebe

Phoebe es un historia que aborda la salud mental en la vida de alguien como tú o como yo, en un mundo cotidiano. La historia se cuenta desde la felicidad, incluyendo a aquellos amigos que iluminan nuestros días, la familia que nos inspira paso a paso y las ganas propias de aprovechar el mañana. Pero también se construye desde la soledad y tristeza por la que podemos llegar a pasar todos alguna vez en nuestra vida, de aquellos momentos en los que estar perdido sirve para encontrar el camino.

Phoebe is a story that addresses mental health in the life of someone like you or me, in an everyday world. The story is told from happiness, including those friends who illuminate our days, the family that inspires us step by step and the desire to take advantage of tomorrow. But it is also built from the loneliness and sadness by which we can all ever pass in our lives, from those moments when being lost serves to find the way.

Phoebe abre las puertas a las ganas de levantarse a conquistar el mundo y las ganas de quedarse en cama todo el tiempo. A las salidas que terminan hasta ver el amanecer y los días donde parece que la noche nunca termina.

Phoebe opens the doors to the urge to rise up to conquer the world and the desire to stay in bed all the time. On departures that end until you see the sunrise and the days where it seems that the night never ends.

Hoy, existe una enorme demanda por la ayuda, el entendimiento y el soporte hacia la salud mental. Phoebe busca contribuir a la tarea de romper el estigma que se tiene acerca de la depresión.

Today, there is a huge demand for help, understanding and support for mental health. Phoebe seeks to contribute to the task of breaking the stigma of depression.

Contada desde una historia real, Phoebe une a un equipo de guionistas, productores y diseñadores para crear conciencia sobre dicho tema.

El relato al que daremos vida juntos no sucede en un mundo de fantasía ni en una época lejana. Nuestros personajes no son seres todopoderosos ni presumen de una gran puntería. Phoebe es una mirada íntima a personas como tú, nosotros y ellos. Personas frágiles, vulnerables y precavidas, pero a la vez fuertes, capaces y valientes.

The story does not happen in a fantasy world or a distant time. Our characters are not almighty beings or have great aim. Phoebe is an intimate look at people like you, us and them. Fragile, vulnerable and cautious people, but at the same time strong, capable and courageous.

Personajes/Characters 

La hermana mayor de la familia, Paloma, ha crecido con sus manos firmes en las teclas de un piano. Llegado el momento, la edad y su intención de forjar una carrera musical la llevan a explorar un terreno hasta ahora desconocido para ella: su independencia.

The family’s older sister, Paloma, has grown up with her hands firmly on the keys of a piano. When the time comes, age and her intention to forge a musical career lead her to explore a terrain so far unknown to her: her independence.

Por su parte, la hermana menor, Paulina, desarrolla su talento en otros campos artísticos, como la danza. Balancear la convivencia familiar con los enredos propios de la adolescencia se vuelve una tarea aún más complicada sin la presencia de su hermana.

For her part, the younger sister, Paulina, develops her talent in other artistic fields, such as dance. Balancing family coexistence with adolescence entanglements becomes an even more complicated task without the presence of her sister.

La presencia juguetona de Phoebe sirve como brújula para la hermana menor, quien encontró más que una mascota en el pequeño hurón.

Phoebe’s playful presence serves as a compass for the younger sister, who found more than a pet in the little ferret.

La música es el alma del cortometraje y el dibujo su corazón. En Phoebe, las notas se escriben en la partitura antes de que las palabras lleguen al guion. La historia de nuestra protagonista se revela de un compás o otro, con temas compuestos específicamente para el proyecto.

Music is the soul of the short film and the animation its heart. In Phoebe, notes are written to the score before the words reach the script. The story of our protagonist is revealed from one measure or another, with themes composed specifically for the project.

Nicole Picazo es una productora y compositora, especializada en Film Scoring. Fanática del Rock y fiel aprendiz de la música clásica. Con Phoebe, Nicole une sus dos pasiones, la música y la producción, para compartir con el mundo una historia entrañable que cambie la vida de muchos, así como cambió la suya.

Nicole Picazo is a producer and songwriter, specializing in Film Scoring. Rock fanatic and faithful apprentice of classical music. With Phoebe, Nicole joins her two passions, music and production, to share with the world an endearing story that changes the lives of many, as well as changed hers.

Estudié Comunicación porque quería conocer un mejor camino para expresarme. La locución y el periodismo digital me han ayudado a transmitir algunas ideas usando mi voz y las letras. En este momento de mi vida, las historias que llevo por dentro quieren hacerse realidad en el maravilloso arte de la cinematografía.

Hector Tapia, Phoebe’s screenwriter and co-producer. I studied Communication because I wanted to know a better way to express myself. Locution and digital journalism have helped me convey some ideas using my voice and lyrics. At this point in my life, the stories inside me want to come true in the wonderful art of cinematography.

Andrea Alcalde es comunicóloga de profesión y melómana de pasión. Siempre está en búsqueda de que una historia digna de contar, pueda llevarse a cabo y realizarse de la mejor manera de principio a fin. Siempre apasionada por lo que hace, busca que el la música, el cine y el arte en general llegue hasta los puntos más recónditos del mundo. Porque una buena historia que toque el corazón, es lo que para ella vale más la pena.

Andrea Alcalde is a communicator by profession and a music lover by passion. She is always looking for a story worth telling, can be carried out and performed in the best way from beginning to end. Always passionate about what she does, she seeks that music, cinema and art in general reach the most remote parts of the world. Because a good story that touches the heart is what is most worthwhile for her.

Mariana Gómez es una animadora a la cual le apasiona la producción y todo lo que conlleva el contar historias, encontró su profesión de ensueño al estudiar Animación y Arte digital. En su tiempo libre disfruta de la ilustración y los videojuegos.

Andrea Guevara es una comunicóloga que actualmente se encarga de llevar las redes sociales de Phoebe. Ha participado en varios proyectos en distintos departamentos y le apasiona formar parte de producciones cuyo objetivo sea fomentar proyectos audiovisuales que rompen con estereotipos y refuercen los valores en el espectador.

Andrea Guevara is a communicator who is currently in charge of running Phoebe’s social media. She has participated in several projects in different departments and is passionate about being part of productions whose objective is to promote audiovisual projects that break stereotypes and reinforce values ​​in the viewer.

Me llamo Rocio Conches, tengo 19 años y soy de Madrid, España. Llevo dibujando desde que tengo uso de razón, para mi dibujar siempre ha sido mucho más que un hobbie, es mi forma de expresarme y de conseguir llegar a la gente. He trabajado en muchos campos artísticos (ilustración, animación, diseño de personajes…) porque creo que probar cosas nuevas te hace aprender,mejorar y crecer como profesional y como persona, algunas de mis aficiones son la música, el cine y los libros.

My name is Rocio Conches, I am 19 years old and I am from Madrid, Spain, I have been drawing since I can remember, for me drawing has always been much more than a hobby, it is my way of expressing myself and reaching people. I have worked in many artistic fields (illustration, animation, character design …) because I believe that trying new things makes you learn, improve and grow as a professional and as a person, some of my hobbies are music, cinema and books .

Meta/Goal 

Iniciamos esta campaña de Kickstarter para conseguir la suma de $161,000 pesos mexicanos y poder financiar la primera etapa de Phoebe; la preproducción. Esta etapa es crucial para la realización total del corto, llevamos poco más de un año trabajando y entre más personas se unen al proyecto más cosas debemos tener en cuenta. Esperamos con su ayuda poder financiar cada uno de los departamentos para así poder movernos a la siguiente etapa.

We started this Kickstarter campaign to get the sum of $161,000 Mexican pesos and be able to finance Phoebe’s first stage; pre-production. This stage is crucial for the total realization of the short, we have been working for just over a year and the more people join the project the more things we must take into account. With your help we’ll be able to fund each of the departments so that we can move on to the next stage.
