In a dystopian reality, four autistic men journey to get life-saving medication for their caregiver.
A Unique Journey Begins…
Hello Friends, Family, and Supporters! Here at Get It Made, we’re known for producing content by underrepresented writers working outside the Hollywood studio system. Our latest project, Plight, marks our first full-length feature film. Written by Ron Sandoval, a Florida-based screenwriter with deep personal ties to the autism community, Plight completed filming in January 2024.
Plight is set in the year 2050, in the aftermath of a massive civil war caused by climate change that has decimated most of the country’s population. The story centers around four young characters: Peter, James, Bart, and Russell, each of whom are on the autism spectrum, as they set out on a treacherous journey to find life-saving medication for their ailing caregiver. The film paints a vivid and emotional portrait of fighting for survival and acceptance in a broken world and finding light in the darkest of times.
What truly sets Plight apart is that its four main stars are actors who authentically live with the disabilities that their characters portray. In most Hollywood films and TV shows, characters with disabilities are either relegated to supporting roles or portrayed by neurotypical actors. Instead, Plight places these young men front and center as our heroes. Starring Jacob Waltuck (Best Summer Ever, Bulletproof), the film also introduces rising talents Tony Sanchez, Davis Harper, and Chase Nicholas and features Emmy-nominated actress Lee Purcell (Secret Sins of the Father, Long Road Home).
Although the production was a great success, various challenges during principal photography forced us to use most of our post-production budget to finish shooting, leaving us $50,000 short of a fully completed film. Footage from the shoot is currently being assembled into a rough cut by our Editor, who is generously working on a deferred agreement because of his belief in the project.

The Impact
Your contribution goes beyond funding a film; it’s a testament to supporting authentic representation in the film industry. Plight will not only launch the careers of talented young actors but will also raise awareness about the capabilities of neurodivergent artists. Your support empowers us to make a lasting impact and create meaningful change.
If we exceed our $50,000 goal, the additional funds will contribute to enhancing the overall quality of the movie. The initial $50,000 represents the essential foundation to complete the project, and any extra funds will serve to elevate the production, ensuring a more refined and captivating final product. Your support beyond the initial goal will directly impact the cinematic experience, allowing us to go above and beyond in creating a truly exceptional film.
Risks & Challenges
Making movies is extremely difficult; budgetary and production challenges are a common occurrence. We did encounter challenges during filming that resulted in our project going over budget, but our team is remarkably resilient and resourceful, which allowed us to get the movie “in the can.” Upon successful fundraising for our post-production needs, we can guarantee that your money will be used to finish the film at the highest industry standards.
