A celebration of the global majority in food, wine, music, and culture.
Make it Mariko is a Bay Area experiential events agency led by women of color that creates magical, meaningful moments for the community.
Our Commitments
-
Curating creative, inclusive, and diverse spaces in the events industry.
-
Challenging the status quo by paving the way for a new generation of event experience curators.
-
To work and dream out of abundance – for ourselves, our clients, and our community.
Over the years many of you have gotten to know us through our large-scale events and programs like:
- UNDISCOVERED SF Creative Market – launched to over 10,000 people in 2017 to help build the SOMA Pilipinas Cultural Heritage District.
- Pinayista Summit – community of Filipino women entrepreneurs and creatives building sisterhood in the hustle.
- Balay Kreative – arts and culture creative hub in SOMA Pilipinas co-founded by our Founder
- POC Wedding Party, and more!
About the Festival
On March 22-24, 2024 we plan to take over the beautiful and expansive Ciel Creative Space in Berkeley, CA for a unique 3-day festival that the Bay has never experienced before.
We plan to feature delicious food vendors, two live stages, art & retail shopping, immersive photo experiences, wine & drink tastings, wine classes, and of course intimate & innovative food experiences like:
- Vino & Vinyl, a celebration of wine & DJ culture
- Brown is Beautiful Ball, a fashion forward cocktail party featuring Chef Harold Villarosa doing a unique “Bodega Meets the Bay” food concept
- A “Family Meal” inspired cannabis dinner with Chef Haejin from Big Bad Wolf
- CBD Wine & Sound Bath
- And MORE curated food & drink experiences!
Festival Schedule of Events
We have BIG plans to host a 3-day festival featuring so many unique food & drink experiences.
Our Ask + The Perks
-
We’re aiming to raise $50K to fund all the amazing Chefs & Creatives to curate our experiences, as well as our general festival production startup costs (venue, team, and marketing).
-
General ticket sales will launch in January to fund the rest of the festival (expected Festival expenses are anticipated to be $250K+ in total).
-
This is our first time funding our own event, so we’re nervous & excited to take on our most ambitious endeavor yet!
