Empower Employ is on a mission to help Veterans, transitioning military members and Military Spouses find equitable employment. 

Our founder, Lindsay Helm, is both a military Veteran and military spouse. In the 11 years since she has been out of the military, Lindsay has endured the hurdles associated with transitioning out of military service and helped countless others that have dealt with similar issues.

Despite decades of advocacy, the transition process is still difficult for potential employers and employees alike. Military Spouses continue to see  a +20% unemployment rate (currently 38% at pandemic strained levels) and a 70% underemployment rate. This has become what many have deemed a matter of national security.

Empower Employ is on a mission to eliminate the disparities in employment for military members and their spouses, and to educate employers about the military culture and what it truly means to hire and retain Veteran and military spouse talent. 
 

What are the problems that military veterans and their spouses are dealing with?

Networking.  (We’ve got a plan for that. —- our applicant tracking system)
Civilian Workforce Culture Competence.  (We have a plan for that.)
Lack of Employer experience with military lifestyle.  (We are working on that.)

Our applicant tracking system, JAKE, will provide vetted employment opportunities for applicants who are ready to work and employers who are military ready, not just military friendly.

What does Empower Employ do?

Empower Employ is seeking to bridge the gaps in knowledge and culture related to the military community by educating employers how to attract, onboard, and retain military Veterans and spouses while optimizing their bottom line with diverse, educated, and experienced talent. This in conducted through one-on-one training, consulting, and sourcing (Where you’ll come in to help build out the best version of JAKE, our proprietary applicant tracking system.) 

What is Empower Employ creating?

Empower Employ is working on an Applicant Tracking System, JAKE. This system tracks any job applicant that uses our services in order to find employment with companies that are prepared to onboard military-affiliated individuals to their team. With the tracking app, Empower Employ is able to see the resumes and other materials that are submitted by the applicants.

Additionally, resume, career, and interview coaching will be available to those individuals using our services. Through this tracker, we’re able to see the progress of the applicant, where they are in their personal development, and when they’re ready to move on to the next big steps. This system allows for these military-affiliates to enter the interview room strong, prepared, and ready for their next life-changing career!

Who gets to use Empower Employ’s software?

Our Applicant Tracking System will be used as an internal tool by Empower Employ. Our goal in the future is to also sell our software to companies that want to hire military spouses and veterans. This will give direct access to those that are seeking employment with specific companies. 

What do I get with my donation?

For the first 50 people that donate $30, they will be sent a tee shirt to thank you for your support. 

For a $1,000 donation, you’ll be able to look behind the scenes as to what our technology looks like and how it functions before our big launch. 

For a $12,000 donation, you’ll get 6 months of unlimited use; unlimited job posts, talents searches, and the works!

For a $20,000 donation, you will get one year of unlimited use. 

How much funding do you need?

Our overall goal is to raise $100,000 in order to not incur any debt.
