But we wanted to take it to another level, and create the ultimate dutch oven!

Introducing the Prepd Dutch Oven, a reinvented classic that can do it all.

The Prepd Dutch Oven combines non-stick convenience with the performance, versatility, and durability of cast-iron, to create the ultimate dutch oven.

It’s the perfect size for cooking for the whole family, a group of friends, or meal prepping for yourself. It’s the only pot you’ll ever need!

The Prepd Dutch Oven is the most versatile pot you will ever use. It creates incredible flavors and you can cook with it on any surface. The Prepd Dutch Oven can go straight from the stove, to the oven, to the table.

You can sear, roast, braise, bake, or deep fry… The possibilities are endless!

Unlike traditional cast iron, our dutch oven is polished smooth, and meticulously seasoned, so that it’s naturally non-stick, without any artificial coatings or enamels that will chip away over time.

After polishing, we season the surface with four layers of grapeseed oil, baking each layer for over an hour. The extra hours of polishing and seasoning result in an incredibly smooth, naturally non-stick finish.

The Prepd Dutch Oven has exceptional heat retention and distribution, so you can create incredible flavors with unbeatable results.

Our dutch oven can sear or braise meat perfectly, give you that golden brown crisp when frying, and bake an amazing loaf of homemade sourdough.

And because we use only natural finishes, you can cook at high heat without any worries.

Unlike enameled cast iron, the Prepd Dutch Oven can handle extreme heat, so you can even use it on the campfire, making it the perfect companion for your next outdoor adventure. We absolutely love cooking with cast iron and following the successful Kickstarter launch of the original Prepd Skillet in 2019, we have looked for ways to make cast iron easier and more fun for our Prepd community!

We have worked closely with our manufacturing partner to improve the performance of our cast iron range with new designs and manufacturing techniques.

With the Prepd Dutch Oven, we set out to expand the capabilities of the dutch oven and achieve even better performance. To do this, we have further developed our machining process, which now involves multiple stages of machining to create an even smoother cooking surface over a larger area, that is also extremely effective at retaining seasoning.

We then pre-season the Dutch Ovens by coating them with 4 layers of grapeseed oil. After applying each layer of oil we bake the pan for one hour at 450 degrees F to polymerize the oil. After this extensive seasoning process is complete, we also perform an additional phase of heat treatment to prepare each Dutch Oven for its first use.

At Prepd it’s our goal to make cooking and eating fun, easy, and enjoyable through good design.

Led by Industrial Designer Will Matters, we have designed and manufactured dozens of products and delivered products to customers all over the world. Our first product was the Prepd Pack, a reinvention of the lunchbox that was launched and successfully delivered to over 12,500 backers on Kickstarter in 2016. Since then, we have continued to innovate, developing new approaches to solve some of the biggest pain points in the kitchen.
