Coach is a music tutor, recorder and MIDI controller. It’s the first tool of its kind thanks to its contact mic, standard mic, WiFi, Bluetooth and two touch surfaces.

Coach uses note and lyrical information from a song you are learning to compare your performance against the original piece. This provides a robust and high-quality data pool and ensures Coach is truly giving you feedback that will lead you towards mastery. It’s an activity tracker (like Fitbit) for your musical journey that helps keep you motivated and driven by data.

Coach can assist with acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele and singing at almost any level. There is no existing talent or knowledge needed to get started with Coach. While seasoned players will love perfecting tracks they have been playing for a while, even the greenest of greenhorns among us will find the process of picking up, tuning, and playing an instrument for the first time much less intimidating with Roadie Coach by their side.

To get started, attach Roadie Coach to your instrument of choice. Soft pads give it a good grip while also protecting your instrument from damage. Use the Coach app to follow along with the chords and strum patterns while you work towards perfecting your performance. As you play, built-in mics record and analyze everything so you can get instant feedback on your performance. Coach will give you pointers and show you places where you can use some extra focus. Use these pointers and feedback to play your song at your own speed until you have completed each level of mastery.

Yup. Coach makes sharing your practice metrics as easy as sending a text. This can help give teachers far deeper insight than traditionally possible into the amount and quality of playing a student is doing. It also allows the teacher’s “in-person” time to be spent on the topics that will be a demonstrable benefit to the student.

High-Quality Multi-Track Recording

Roadie Coach is able to deliver on-the-go multitrack recording. It is equipped with a sleek contact mic and an extremely capable microphone to capture all your performances and practice sessions. When learning to sing and play at the same time, Coach will carefully listen to both your voice and instrument and track performance metrics for each one. We thought you would appreciate that. Customize the sampling rate of .wav recordings or record compressed audio.

Visualize And Interact With Your Music

Coach is equipped with an intuitive LED touch interface so you can clearly visualize and control interesting elements of your playing. Two touch sliders on Coach allow on-instrument interaction with audio apps and your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) via MIDI. Effortlessly bring in an effect you are playing with, dial in the volume of the backing track from across the room or just bring down your own levels when you see a clip on Coach’s VU meter. Quickly check your song progress as you play or stack 4 reverbs together with the swipe of a finger. The possibilities are endless. 

Input/Output, Piezo Pickup And Micro Amp

Coach has two 1/8th inch (3.5mm) audio jacks, audio-in and audio-out.

•  Audio-in jack – Used for electric guitars or other pickup-equipped instruments, external microphones or whatever else you may want to record.
•  Audio-out jack – Used for a quick headphone sound check on your levels, listening to on-board recordings and other cool stuff like being a Micro Amp (see next section).
•  Micro Amp – Practice your electric guitar without needing an amp and without making any noise.
•  Contact Mic – Plug Coach into your amp and use it as a high-quality contact mic for your live performances.

Connectivity & File Management

Roadie Coach is a Wifi and Bluetooth-connected recorder. This allows you to access recordings from a laptop or phone without having to plug it in. Easily import them seamlessly into your favorite DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Logic Pro X, FL Studio or Ableton Live and start mixing a track! This connectivity makes the Coach platform extremely robust and the future development possibilities are vast.

Automatically Organizes All Your Recordings

Keeping a large set of practice recordings organized is key to Coach being able to do its job. Roadie Coach uses audio matching algorithms to detect when you have played a song you are working on and intelligently stores the recording with the others like it. This lets you look through your history playing a given track and hear how you have progressed over time. This is a super satisfying way to experience your own musical progress.

Coach has a Bluetooth radio built in, which enables it to interact with other devices and computers via MIDI. This means the two touch surfaces will both be accessible and visible to your DAW or audio app. You can assign these surfaces as MIDI inputs to control whatever tool or parameter your creativity demands. You could even play a synth note or two!

There is a HUGE world of amazing effects and tools musicians have access to via plugins and apps. Coach lets these become a seamless part of your live performance rather than an afterthought applied in post. Just one more way Coach can make your music exploration intuitive and immediate.
