My name is Nicola, I am a self-defense instructor and the inventor of SATURN. Over the past 13 years, I’ve taught self-defense and basic safety skills to hundreds of women.

A student of mine once told me about an incident where she realized she’d been drugged at a party—thank God she managed to save herself, but the thing that struck me most about her story was how utterly alone she felt.

She said she felt completely on her own and didn’t know who to ask for help or even how….

Because of stories like hers, I came up with SATURN RING WORLD.

SATURN is a ring you wear on your finger, connected to your smartphone via an app, that allows ANY PERSON in a dangerous situation or need to be geolocated and to alert up to 10 people.

It also allows any person with the app who’s in the same venue, to receive a message, a vibration alert from the ring so that they can come to help.
And all this with just a simple click.

This app will allow any person in every corner of the world to connect with one another and to share their experiences and strategies, because proper awareness and prevention can make a great difference.

SATURN was initially developed for women who find themselves in social and gregarious situations, but it is also a useful tool for the very young, the elderly, and for all those people who could potentially be seen as “easy victims,” or who might be incapacitated to ask for help… it could also be useful in other contexts such as on the street, at school, on public transportation and even at home…

A ring that has the support of a growing network of many other rings, all working together to achieve mutual SAFETY.

I love the idea that a small piece of jewelry could become the vehicle to create a great social impact, more unity, and… the more it spreads the more effective it will be in creating solidarity.

The Development of the Idea and the Prototype

We’ve been contemplating for a while on how to best bring Saturn’s idea to life. We’ve embarked on several potential paths, some of which halted to make way for the current project, aiming to maximize the use of technology.

However, Saturn Ring World is an ambitious project that aims to protect people from a very big problem for our society, that of violence, all kinds of violence. In order to make a difference, we need your contribution, through which we are confident that we can overcome any problems that the prototyping and production of Saturn Ring World may have.

• Saturn Ring World is virtually indestructible, a steel band protecting its technological heart will ensure that it can accompany you every day without being damaged by accidental contact.
• Saturn’s packaging will use only eco-friendly materials, the ring’s sturdiness makes it easy for us to use small packaging that will not weigh down the environment.
• Saturn Ring World is 95% made of steel. Steel is a 100% recyclable material that can be recycled countless times without losing any of its original properties. For this reason, steel is by far the most recycled material in the world today. The life cycle of steel is potentially endless, making it a true “permanent resource” that is essential for the development of a sustainable economy.

The idea of SATURN RING WORLD actually started from another idea. I was designing a combat ring for personal defense.

Then I realized that in reality there was already something similar, that I wasn’t going to add anything new to help my students.
I was almost about to give up everything when… I remembered the story of a student of mine who had been drugged at a party and lost control.
He was unable to defend himself or save himself with any means. And I had an intuition: I have to invent a tool that, in case you are in danger or in a situation of need and unable to do something independently, someone else can intervene to help.
A tool that allows you to ask for help with a simple and quick gesture, which requires no physical or mental effort, and which no one can notice. A ring that geolocates and sends requests through a support app via a button!
So together with two friends, Vincenzo and Vincenzo (and yes, they have the same name!), a designer and an engineer, I started to give shape to the new idea.

From that moment a long process began to understand what shape, internal parts and functions such a ring could have.

In the end, we arrived at the final project, the definitive design, the definitive brand, thanks also to the collaboration of the Italian company which will take care of the creation of the first prototype.

How do we create the customised ring for you?

First we will send you a finger sizing kit to create your perfect ring

Inside you will find some simple instructions, for example: wear the ring for at least
24 hours, carry out your normal daily activities, confirm your size via the app. Only
after confirmation of your finger size will the actual ring order start.
