We are OVERHAND, this is our first playing cards project that was prepared more than a year ago. 

Welcome to the Universe of the Schrodinger’s Cat project. A series of playing cards was inspired by one of the most famous thought experiments “Schrodinger’s Cat ” by physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935.

“Schrödinger’s cat: a cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor detects radioactivity (i.e. a single atom decaying), the flask is shattered, releasing the poison, and killing the cat. The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that, after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when one looks in the box, one sees the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead. This poses the question of when exactly quantum superposition ends and reality resolves into one possibility or the other.”

We designed the card back with the chalkboard drawings sketching style. And we also put Schrodinger’s Equation on the edge of the border.

With the Cat paw alive and dead on the left and right corner. And also the symbol of eternal life just next to the Schrodinger’s Cat to show the fact that’s it beyond just life – The ankh symbol.

We picked three of the most representative pose of a cat as the cover of our playing cards,

which is the Cat-walk, Sit & Cat stretch. And with the huge respect for the creator of the experiment – Erwin Schrödinger, we put his famous Schrödinger’s Equation as the background & also the inside of every tuck box.

We also use the popular 3 in 1 design just like the Memento-Mori & other playing cards as the basic concept to show the 3 possible outcomes of Schrödinger’s cat

experiment. And for sure to make the collection look stunning.

We tried our best to cover all the species of cat, for example, the British Shorthair,

Siamese, Sphynx, Ragdoll, Savannah, Mix. They are all designed with half bones and half normal style to match the Dead & Alive theme in Schrodinger’s Cat.

We used different body parts & bone structures of a cat to design to perfect custom pips for the Schrodinger’s Cat Playing cards.
