We worked for a full year with our manufacturer to develop ThermaGuard™ technology to help with heat and sound. Every Sleepout Curtain is made with a special cotton ecru flocking on the back to reflect the light from the sun and a special pass during the weaving process to keep your room cool in the summer (about 5-9°F) and warm in the winter while blocking out annoying street noises that can cause early wakeups.

Hi! We’re Mark & Hannah, a couple and the Co-Founders of Sleepout. Mark, is a (former) insomniac who needed every room he slept in to be pitch black. During the pandemic, we bought everything on the market and tried every DIY solution you can imagine (including garbage bags, blankets, duct tape, shower curtain rods, and more) to blackout our windows.

Our first product was the Sleepout Curtain, a portable blackout curtain (no curtain rod) that installs anywhere in seconds. After launching in 2021 and successfully delivering on our first Kickstarter campaign, we talked to thousands of customers who told us there was no good curtain rod solution to fully block out light.

So, we got to work and created Sleepout Home, a reinvented, patent-pending curtain rod and blackout curtains for a true 100% dark sleeping experience. Now we’re looking to you, the Kickstarter community, to help make Sleepout Home a reality!
