SMARTCOBY, a credit-card-sized power bank that has been supported by over 1,000 people on Makuake, a Japanese crowdfunding site. SMARTCOBY has upgraded and become “SMARTCOBY Pro 30W,” with higher output!

CIO was founded by a Shodai, who was born in 1990 in Osaka, Japan. While working for a Japanese IT company as a new graduate in 2011, he started importing and using gadgets from overseas to make his work environment and daily life more convenient.

But as he started using these foreign tools more, he realized how limited each device was, and that he had to own multiple chargers to power up his laptop, smartphone, music player, etc. As a result, he had more devices than he knew what to do with, and was constantly wasting time looking for the right charger for the right device. 

Realizing that other people must be having the same problem, Shodai starting thinking about how to combine multiple functions in a single product, while also using the latest technology. When he couldn’t find such devices elsewhere, he decided to start manufacturing his own products. 

With this idea in mind, CIO was established in 2017 as a manufacturer dedicated to creating devices that would set new standards of multi-functionality while also using the most advanced technologies. 

CIO started out selling its products exclusively on Japanese e-commerce sites, but has expanded and now services a wide range of major Japanese electronics retailers, home centers, and supermarkets, and more than one million people have now used our products.

Our next goal is to bring this marriage of multi-functionality and technology from Japan to the rest of the world. And with your help, we are sure we can make this happen!

MANUFACTURING: The manufacturer is lined up, and we have quality assurance people on site during production. 

There is a possibility of slight changes of the color in our devices and in the company logos.

If the number of supporters exceeds our expectation, the shipping time may be delayed due to production delays or other reasons in the manufacturing process.

FULFILLMENT: Sometimes things get a bit crazy and stuff happens that can’t be planned for: a supplier misses a deadline, customs clearance or a shipment gets lost. Those things could cause a delay. We are using an experienced logistics team to get our products to you. We’ll keep up open and honest communication lines with you throughout the process so you will know where your product is and when it will get to you.

OTHER RISKS: If the number of supporters exceeds our expectation and we are able to further improve our mass production system, the regular selling price may be lower than the planned selling price. There is a possibility that similar products exist, so please support us at your own discretion.
