With SquareOne®, the cards, pawns, dice and other connected objects are the game controllers that you will manipulate to interact with your games. This creates an exciting and constantly evolving gaming experience.

CARDS

Simply place the card on the side of the console: it is immediately recognized, comes to life on the screen and defines what your next turn will be.

PAWNS

Bring your character to life by touching, moving and/or rotating your pawn on the screen. Your figure’s movements are detected in real-time.

DICE

You will be delighted to learn that SquareOne® comes with the world’s first connected dice track, which will enable you to feel the dice rolling in your hand just like any other board game. 

Whether you roll a 6-sided or 10-sided die, the dice track detects your result, sends it to
the console, and instantly displays all your resulting options on the screen.

CUSTOM GAME BOARD

The SquareOne® board can be customized for each game you play on it. The outer frame will play an integral role in this customization, allowing you to interact with the cards or place your pawns according to the rules and mechanisms of the current game.

DICE EDITION UNBOXING VIDEO

Anyone can make a game on SquareOne®: every console is a dev kit. There is no need to purchase a license or an expensive SDK. Because SquareOne® is based on an Android stack, any game developer can easily publish their game on SquareOne®. The possibilities are limitless, and we are very proud that every console can be a game playground for your ideas.

A developer platform will be available around March 2021 to give access to a free SDK, online documentation, a console simulator, a forum, and access to our support team.

Three years ago, a team who together admired many things – technology, video games, board games, art, shows and moments of conviviality – took up a challenge. Wizama was born, the contraction of Wizard and Ama, two different languages to signify Magic and Home.​

Profiles specialized in electronics, user experience, design, software and video game development, business, coming from companies like Technicolor, Thales, Apple, Ubisoft, Tencent, Xbox, Ankama, Libellud, have joined forces to give birth to SquareOne®.

Several board games authors, as well as video game companies, got involved in the adventure, and we thank each of them all for their confidence and support during the development process. ​

Over the years, we have designed multiple iterations of the prototype and developed several games to test the potential of the gaming experience at conventions such as the FIJ in Cannes, the Gamescom in Cologne, etc. Player feedback has helped us design the best possible experience.

We also tested several aspects of our platform at the biggest electronics conventions, and we were extremely pleased to receive major awards that validated our choices in terms of Product Design, User Experience Design, and Electronics.

And now, we’re excited to offer this brand new experience to players all over the world. We can’t wait to see SquareOne® on your table and be a source of social sharing and happiness. It will be our best possible reward as players.​

RISKS & CHALLENGES

Every great project has its challenges, especially those that include the combination of software, hardware, and hundreds of pieces of plastic, paper, etc. We understand the importance of bringing a high-quality product to every home. For us, compromising quality or safety is unacceptable.

Our team members’ past experiences have served us well in both industry knowledge and product development. Our prototype is in its final stage, the manufacturing process is already settled. Most of Wizama’s in-house games, as well as our partners’ games, are in an advanced stage of development (many are already finalized).

We have attended a dozen gaming conventions so that players could try the SquareOne® and some of our games. They gave us the motivation to be here today. We try our best to stay close to our community through comments, private messages and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/wizamaplay/). We really take your feedback into account, and love interacting with our community.

This is the first time that we will have a 100% delivery operation, so we have considered additional planning time after the project is funded to ensure the most efficient shipping solution. We estimate a delivery date of February 2022. This is the required time to finalize the manufacturing process, produce all necessary SquareOne® consoles, and ship them to you. It’s also the time needed for our partners to finalize all the games and experiences that will be available at the launch. We also included a safety margin, in case we come across any unforeseen circumstances. It is in our best interests to get the SquareOne® to our backers as soon as possible, and we will do our best to avoid any delay.
