Help us to ensure the continued growth of the vibrant youth ultimate frisbee community in Minnesota!
About Minnesota Ultimate
In 2003, Minnesota Ultimate (MNU) was founded as a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing organized programming to middle and high school players in the twin cities, a hub of the fast growing ultimate frisbee scene.
“The mission of Minnesota Ultimate is to support and build a community by offering inclusive, quality programming that focuses on learning, playing, and teaching.”
Today, this mission ripples throughout Minnesota, in particular in the Twin Cities Metro area where it serves 3,500 participants and families, molding and fostering pivotal experiences for a diverse array of passionate and dedicated players, their families, and coaches.
MNU has been fortunate to collaborate with thousands of players and families during our history. We are eternally grateful to have shared in so many experiences, friendships, and personal growth moments. However, there is still tremendous work to be done.
The next step in our organization’s journey starts now and we need your partnership to kickstart our organization’s next chapter through this campaign!
The Campaign for $50,000
As we look to the future, MNU faces the tough realization of necessary growth. We have historically acted in the best interest of our youth and their families. In particular, because we place emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, MNU registration fee are separated by two groups, with Middle School’s cost of $20 and high school’s cost $40 being 34% below and 27% below the market value price for youth athletics. Unfortunately, this has often placed MNU in difficult situations, especially as it relates to staff shortage, staff burnout, and staff turnover; MNU has only had 2 full-time staff, with occasional 2 part-time support staff, while serving a fast growing community.
With your gift to this campaign, MNU will be able to hire a program coordinator, who will be able to focus on increasing our efforts to provide access to better youth ultimate frisbee training and clinics, all the while working to maintain low registration costs and broadening our reach and service throughout the state of Minnesota outstate communities, such as Duluth, Rochester, and Moorhead. Further, the addition of a program coordinator will allow staff to fully realize MNU’s the new strategic plan, the four pillars for which are:
- Commitment to Community
- Commitment to Positive Growth
- Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Commitment to Resilience, Adaptability, and a Sustainable Model
