Childhood pals and now Tall Size Co-Founders, Nicole Murphy (6’0) and Kayla Alexander (6’4), are raising $50,000 to support an incredibly underserved and overlooked segment of the population, tall women, in never-before-seen ways. Such as:

• Global Fashion Marketplace: We would like to expand our first-of-its-kind online shopping marketplace for tall women, www.tallsize.com, to operate globally making it easy for tall women and girls EVERYWHERE to discover and shop tall-friendly clothing, shoes and accessories from dozens of brands, all in one convenient location. Currently we only operate in the US and Canada but we receive an incredible number of requests to expand overseas on a weekly basis. We need your help to be able expand our solution to tall women everywhere.
• In-Person Shopping Experiences: With our underlying technology infrastructure and existing relationships with dozens of tall-friendly brands from our marketplace, it make us the perfect people to start introducing in person pop-up shops in 2023 and beyond. These pop-up shops will give tall women the opportunity to FINALLY enjoy an in-person shopping experience designed specifically for them. They’ll be able to shop and try on tall-friendly clothing from a variety of tall brands all in one place. First up, we will be popping up in Los Angeles from April 1-2, 2023 and New York City in September 2023. Our dream is to be able to pop-up in a different major city every month across the United States followed by Canada, UK, Europe and Australia but we need your help to make this a reality as this is a BIG, but necessary, undertaking.
• Community Experiences: There’s a certain magic that happens when tall women get together. We like to call it #TallGirlEnergy, so in addition to our in-person pop-up shops and community events, we will be introducing an online community where we will bring tall women together to gather, connect and empower one another. You can learn more about our online community here – and we hope you’ll join us as we plan to start offering exclusive workshops with industry experts (Stylists, Influencers, Dating Coaches, Sex Therapists, Doctors, etc) and discounts to our community members. Our Story

Hello, we are Kayla Alexander (6’4) and Nicole Murphy (6’0). As two tall teens who bonded over the game of basketball, we are now determined to make shopping easy and accessible for tall women and teens across the globe.

Tall Size was born out of a desperate need Nicole and Kayla faced. Like millions of tall women, they couldn’t walk into a shop to buy jeans, tops or shoes that fit their bodies. Every time a woman or teen struggles to find clothes, it reinforces the idea that something is wrong with her body, that she’s not normal, and that she doesn’t belong. The long term effects this has on a woman’s self esteem and confidence can be crippling. This is why we need your help, to challenge the current state of the fashion industry to show tall women everywhere that they are seen, they are beautiful and that they belong.

Our Mission

At Tall Size, we want to change the way tall women shop and view themselves. For the average person shopping is fun, easy, and accessible. For the average person there is an expectation of being able to walk into a store, try things on and leave feeling satisfied and excited about their purchase and themselves. These are the experiences, expectations and feelings we are determined to bring to tall women. Furthermore, we are all about building, uplifting and celebrating the tall women through community. The tall community is supportive of one another because of the shared experiences, and when we come together amazing things can happen. Afterall, it was a small but powerful community of tall women that created Tall Size!

Our Solution

To solve the need tall women face we built tallsize.com, the first ever online marketplace and lifestyle brand dedicated to tall women and teens. What makes us unique is the fact that we are a marketplace. We partner with over 25 brands that create pieces specifically for tall women. This allows tall women to shop hundreds of products from a variety of brands in one spot. We offer incredible filtering capabilities that include clothing sizes, shoe sizes; inseams, and more, as well as detailed sizing charts for each product, allowing a quicker and easier shopping experience. We also share product reviews from customers that include height and weight, which allows shoppers to make informed decisions before purchasing. Last but not least, we consider ourselves a lifestyle brand, so we are constantly providing up to date content not limited to: how to style your items, recreate the looks and tips on how to properly take your measurements.

The Impact

When Nicole and Kayla first started Tall Size, they thought they were filling a major gap in the fashion industry. What they quickly learned was that the lack of inclusion for tall women had had a lasting crippling effect on the self esteem of tall teens that carried into adulthood. They no longer wanted to just provide clothing, they wanted to also create community to help build all tall women’s self esteem and confidence back up.

Studies show that when a woman is able to wear clothes that fit her body properly, she experiences higher levels of self confidence, happiness and success. By making shopping accessible for tall women and teens, we’re helping them to rediscover their value and self worth.

We at Tall Size are looking to raise $50,000 to help Tall Size become a household name. We will do this through marketing, operations, business development and community building, which I will explain in further detail below.

Our Vision

We have big plans for the future of Tall Size. We want to be the reliable resource for all tall women’s needs, that reach beyond just fashion. From coats, to jeans, winter jackets to dresses, tall women will always have access to the latest and greatest fashions, guaranteed to fit! We want to cater to the global population of tall women by providing international shipping, free returns, and mobile pop up shops. This will not only make Tall Size accessible for all, but it will allow for in person shopping and the ability to try clothes on, something that tall women rarely get to experience.

Lastly, we want to give all tall women a safe community where they can come together and feel seen, heard and welcomed. We will create both online and in person community events, helping tall women to discover their tall tribe.

What We Need

Marketing — We want Tall Size to be the go to destination for tall women everywhere. Through marketing, we will amplify the Tall Size name making us easily accessible and recognizable. This will only help us to multiply the positive impact we have already had thus far.

Risks & Challenges

We know that Tall Size is invaluable to the tall community of women because it fills a much need gap in the industry. We have been up and running for 15 months and the impact speaks for itself. That being said there are challenges we are currently facing, that as a result are limiting the profound impact we can have. Some of our challenges are outlined below:

International shipping — Tall Size is a marketplace that currently operates from a drop shipping model. Due to the complications we are experiencing with international shipping we are only able to serve tall women in Canada and the United States. We know the need is there internationally from the daily messages and emails we receive, however, until we can solve this problem, there will be millions of tall women globally who we will not be able to serve or help.

Expensive Marketing Costs — what makes any brand or business successful is visibility. Tall women can not shop and benefit from a brand that they do not exists. One of the challenges we have been experiencing is getting the word out about Tall Size. We have seen natural organic growth through social media and word of mouth but it is slow. If we truly want to serve the global community of tall teens and women, we will need funding to put into marketing efforts.

In store shopping experiences — Tall women rarely get the chance to try clothing on in store, and if they do it’s usually because they have resorted to the men’s section. We want to be able to provide in store shopping experiences through our mobile pop up shops to our customers globally. To do this it will require strategic planning and funding so that we can create these in store experiences for tall women.

Despite these challenges, Nicole and Kayla are passionate and believe in what they are building at Tall Size. Between Nicole and Kayla’s skill sets, competitive mindset and determination, they believe they have what it takes to not only tackle each challenge, but help grow Tall Size into a household name and success.

Nicole has ten plus years experience working in marketing and has helped numerous start ups thrive. Now, she is taking all that passions an experience to help grow Tall Size. Kayla has ten years experience as a professional basketball player, and has never backed down from a challenge. With her network and international reach she is determined to see Tall Size global success.
