The Tandem Shower is an after-market solution to upgrade any standard shower to one with water coming from both sides. With our easy install, there’s no need for contractors or renovations. Renters and owners alike can easily get a luxury shower upgrade at an affordable price. 

Over the past year, we tested Tandem Shower prototypes with over 50 randomly selected people. They provided us with regular feedback to improve the product as well as video testimonials. 

Up to now, showering together has always sucked. One person’s always stuck in the cold. The other is (guiltily) enjoying the hot water. Switching sides is its own adventure. If you’re on the outside of the rotation, you risk falling through the curtain. On the inside, you can’t let your butt touch the freezing wall. We set out to fix this.

We see showering together as a way to help nurture and strengthen relationships.

Water pressure is a top priority for us. Having two showerheads would suck if the water dripped out. After extensive research into existing showerheads, we felt that we could build a more optimized solution from the ground-up. The Tandem Shower uses a flexible hose which will allow you to install it with plenty of clearance. 

It actually allows taller people to have a showerhead that’s much higher than their main showerhead.  Now partners of different heights can each have a showerhead that fits them.

Our custom-designed valve allows you to adjust the flow between the two showerheads.

With the range of motion on the showerheads, the Tandem Shower opens up the space for a couple to shower comfortably together while also covering you head-to-toe in a solo shower.

Installation is simple. Just extend the Tandem Shower until it fits tightly between your walls.  Then attach the hose, valve, and showerhead.  That’s it.  No plumbers. No contractors.  

If you’re not ready to let go of your existing showerhead, the Tandem Shower is also easily compatible with other showerheads, including handhelds. Please note, for the best experience, we’d recommend using our custom-engineered showerheads on both sides.

Although the Tandem Shower works with standard bathtubs or similarly-sized shower stalls, there are a few requirements to keep in mind for compatibility:

• Your wall-to-wall distance needs to be between 57″ and 76″.
• Walls must be sturdy – the Tandem Shower uses pressure to mount to the walls.
• Your shower arm must come from one of the side walls as seen below, not the ceiling or back wall.

The Tandem Shower was created by Brett Skaloud and Jeff Feiereisen, two engineers who met while working at Amazon. Brett is a hardware design engineer with over 15 years of experience designing products from the ground up, primarily at Amazon.  He was a founding member on both the Amazon Go store and the Amazon Scout sidewalk delivery robot. Jeff is an engineering leader with experience spanning Amazon and Microsoft. He helped launch Amazon Go stores with Brett as well as Amazon Explore. 

Both Brett and Jeff have developed numerous products from conception to launch. They teamed up to launch the Tandem Shower in early 2021.

The design of the product came together over the past year through numerous iterations, tests, and customer evaluations.

Pressure was one of our top concerns. We tested over 50 showerhead designs and custom built our own solutions to perfect the experience when used in tandem.

We are proud to share that the Tandem Shower is pending several patents (utility and design) as well as trademarks.

Quality, reliability, and safety are very important to us. We’ve designed The Tandem Shower to be durable, specifying only premium materials. Using Finite Element Analysis, we were able to reduce weight while minimizing stresses in our components, resulting in increased strength and a more robust design.

We push our vendors to meet demanding finish and quality requirements, and we’re making sure every factory is ISO 9001 certified.  We will also conduct rigorous process and reliability testing throughout the manufacturing process.

Safety is at the forefront of our minds.  To ensure the Tandem Shower achieves a secure pressure mount to your walls, we will be testing it against the UL 21-2IC protocol, which includes practical use, static load, and slip resistance testing.

The Tandem Shower will be certified to meet all US regulations, including the requirements defined in ASME A112.18.1, and will be WaterSense certified for the more flow restrictive state and local regulations, such as California.  

We will accomplish this using top-of-the-line Neoperl flow regulators installed in each showerhead, which minimize flow loss for those already dealing with low pressure in their homes.

We’ve spent countless hours vetting our supply chain to make sure the vendors we use can meet our quality, environmental, and ethical requirements.  These requirements include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, worker safety, non-discrimination, and the prohibition of child labor and forced labor.  

To complete this vetting process, we conducted remote factory audits where we reviewed manufacturing capabilities, quality processes, and worker conditions.

We also evaluated competency with Design For Manufacturing (DFM) tests, business license and production reviews, and consultations with supply chain experts.

While much of our supply chain is in China, we are mitigating supply chain risks by queueing up duplicate sources in Vietnam, Mexico, and the US.

Please be aware that shipping and taxes are not included in the rewards. After the campaign, we will email you a questionnaire to collect your address to ensure we have the most accurate place to send your product to.  Shipping costs will be calculated based on current market rates once we get closer to delivery.

Taxes will vary based on where your rewards are shipped. No taxes are included in the prices on the campaign and they will be collected after the campaign has concluded prior to shipping.

The Tandem Shower will include a 1 year limited warranty, covering any manufacturing defects. This warranty does not include drops or other user damage. As this is a crowdfunding campaign that will be used to help finance the tooling and manufacturing costs (along with being offered at a substantial discount), returns/refunds will not be accepted.

Our mission at Boona is to improve relationships, even if it’s something as simple as a shower that allows you to be more present with each other.  We are continuously brainstorming new ideas aimed at this purpose.  While the Tandem Shower is our first step, allowing us to get our feet wet in this space (wink), our vision is not limited to showers.  We’re excited to develop new ways of bringing people closer together.
