A dominatrix unwittingly summons an incubus demon and joins forces with a priest to defeat it.
Short Summary
The Demonatrix is a feature film written and directed by Aurelio Voltaire and Jeff Ferrell (that’s me.) The movie tells the story of a Lita, a dominatrix who falls on hard times and takes up a side gig as a phony spiritual medium. One night during a seance, an actual incubus demon is accidentally summoned, and attaches itself to her. Lita seeks the help of Father Veto, the priest who presides over the church across the street from her dungeon, and together they join forces to try and send the demon back to hell!
We wrote the movie together after collabrating on our previous movie Dead West (which was on Netflix and Walmart shelves!) a few years back. Voltaire had the unique story idea for the movie, and asked me to help him turn it into a screenplay. Our aim was that we would both direct and act in what would be a fun, sexy, scary and unique film. And now, with your help, we are ready to make it a reality!
But first, a bit about us…
You might know Aurelio Voltaire from his 20+ year career as a professional musician and host of his own YouTube series Gothic Homemaking, but did you know he also directed stop motion animated shorts professionally for many years? He’s also acted in several feature films inlcuding Velocipastor, Dead West, Model Hunger and The ABCs of Death 2. In addition to playing the role of Father Veto in the film, The Demonatrix will allow him to make his long awaited feature directorial debut!
Jeff Ferrell (me again) has written & directed three feature films so far (Ghostlight, Dead West and Holiday Hell) which have all been picked up for worldwide distribution and are available to watch on streaming platforms such as Tubi, Vudu and Amazon Prime.
We also have some AMAZING actors attached to appear in the film!
Hannah Fierman (V/H/S, Siren, Creepshow TV series) as Lita
Larry Fessenden (We Are Still Here, Killers of the Flower Moon, Jakob’s Wife) as Dino
PLUS some very exciting casting announcements that will be made once the film is complete!
The Demonatrix represents a dream that Voltaire and I have shared for many years, and we’ve been waiting for the right time to actually make it. And that time is now! We want to make this movie a reality, and we invite you to help us make this dream (or is it nightmare?) come true.
What We Need & What You Get
We need to raise at least $66,600. We already have partial funding secured from private investors, but it isn’t enough to actually finish making the film. That’s where you come in! We are looking to our friends and fans to help us raise the rest of the money needed to make the film properly, and ensure that we have enough funds to pay our cast, crew and all other expenses related to making the movie (and believe me, there are a lot.) Here’s how that $66,600 will be spent:
Actors – $15,000
Special FX – $16,600
Crew – $15,000
Equipment rentals – $5,000
Props/Costumes – $5,000
Catering/craft service – $5,000
Post-Production – $5,000
Again, this is not a breakdown of our entire budget, just how the funds we are raising here will be allocated for use on top of what we already have raised. Should we not meet our goal of $66,600, the funds we do raise will still go toward the above listed production expenses, and we will set about trying to find the additional funding needed through alternative methods.
In order to raise these funds, we are offering some awesome perks! Such as:
- special thanks in the end credits
- signed Blu-ray copy of the film
- signed poster featuring artwork by SadistArtDesigns (seen above!)
- digital downloads of the movie and soundtrack
- hand drawn storyboards and concept art by the directors
- screen used whip featured in the film and poster
- private Zoom call with the directors
- Executive, Associate and Co-Producer credits
And if we are lucky enough to exceed our initial goal, we have some awesome perks planned for our stretch goals! And what will the stretch goal funds, if any, get us? Bigger and better special effects, more shooting days, and more money to pay our invaluable cast and crew!
The Impact
With The Demonatrix, we hope to make a one-of-a-kind film that will appeal to horror fans who are seeking something beyond the usual cookie-cutter genre fare. We are making a film that is not only scary, sexy and funny, but one that pushes the envelope, and deals with taboos and subject matter not usually seen in the genre. This is a film that we think deserves to exist; not only for ourselves, but for adventerous movie watchers like you! We really think you’re gonna love it.
My track record shows that with my previous three movies, I’ve proven that I know how to make a high quality horror movie on a micro budget, and get the film finished and into wide distribution for the world to see. And that’s exactly what we intend to do with The Demonatrix!
Risks & Challenges
As with any movie, there is a risk that the film will not be completed if we are not able to raise adequate funding. But luckily, we aren’t starting from scratch here! We already have part of our budget raised from private investors, so we feel confident that upon reaching our campaign goal, we will have sufficient funds to properly complete the film and get it in front of your eyeballs!
As with every movie I’ve made, sometimes it takes years to take a film from conception to completion, but I always finish what I start. And luckily, we’re already off to a great start with partial funding already raised, and an amazing cast and crew lined up to bring our vision to life. The Demonatrix train has left the station, and we invite you to climb on board and help us get this hellish locomotive to its final destination – the big screen! Or your laptop screen, TV, iPad… you get the idea.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can’t afford to contribute to the campaign, we totally understand! The second best way to help is to spread the word! Share it on social media, tell your horror loving friends, or anyone you think might be interested in a movie like ours. That kind of word of mouth is truly invaluable to us, and we thank you so much for taking the time to help us spread the word about our movie!
