Addiction, Opioids and Death in Central California
Short Summary
Hello my name is Darren Redmond and I am the Executive Director of a non-profit organization called PAIN (Parents and Addicts In Need) since 2009 and we have been providing educational resources, support services and recommendations to anyone looking for help in the journey back from substance abuse.
The “Don’t Hide the Scars Project” was started after our “Don’t Hide the Scars” podcast brought to light the magnitude and misconceptions many people have about substance abuse.
A mother should never have to walk into her sons bedroom to find him dead with his Xbox head phones still on, from an accidental overdose caused by pressed pill filled with Fentanyl
A college aged student, should never find himself impaled on a fence hanging from it alone because he slipped while trying to jump a fence
A young mother struggling with addiction, should never feel so out of control and desperate, they jumped off a roof with the hope of killing themselves.
All three of these tragedies happened just a few miles from each other in the Fresno/Clovis area of California
These are just a few of the stories we will cover in our documentary that you will help us bring to life.
