Feature Film providing hope to Military Veterans worldwide who suffer from PTSD & Depression.
The Keeper is more than just a film, The Keeper is based on a true story and a real-world movement that exists to help prevent Veteran suicide.
The Keeper is a feature film that tells the true story of George Eshelman’s desire to help Veterans cope with PTSD and suicide prevention. The purpose of making The Keeper is to tell George’s story and that of the hundreds of Veterans tragically lost to suicide each year.
The Keeper is also a story of hope for our Veterans and anyone going through a hopeless time in their lives. In this story, that hope lies in the Appalachian Trail, hiking with George and other organizations dedicated to saving the precious lives of the great men and women who have served this great country.
Story: George intended to succumb to the same fate as the names of those he carried when 4 fellow Veterans hiking along the same trail stop him and encourage him that the names he carries deserve to be honored & carried to the end.
The script is written, the actors are being cast and the location (The Appalachian Trail) has been confirmed – all we need now is to raise the funds necessary to begin production this Spring.
Film Comps
We’re aiming to raise $75,000 to help finance a feature film about a special group of Military Veterans, Appalachian Trail hikers, as they help a fellow vet battle depression, PTSD, and suicidal tendencies. As George hikes the Appalachian Trail while carrying 363 military name tapes to raise awareness about veteran suicide he finds hope in an otherwise hopeless situation.
The script is written, the actors have been cast and the location (The Appalachian Trail) has been confirmed – all we need now is to raise the funds necessary to begin production this Spring.
THE KEEPER will not only be released in traditional formats such as a theatrical release, but we will also work alongside Military groups and PTSD support groups to make the film available for all service men and women across the country in private screenings, groups meetings, charity events and outreaches for support, help and counseling services. The film will also be utilized as an aid to support, help and direct the viewer to the necessary help they may need, (these services will be displayed on the film’s credits, websites, and all marketing and social media.)
