Risks and challenges
The Specialists is our second project on Kickstarter. Our previous campaign Big Monster was a success. The game has been produced and successfully delivered.
Now we are very excited to share with you our new game.
The Specialists has benefited from a long development and many tests. All the artwork for the game is complete. We are ready to submit the final files to the manufacturer.
The game has been extensively playtested. Prototypes circulate all over France and Belgium. We also sent copies to reviewers.
The manufacturing plant (NSF in The Netherlands) is chosen and we visited it. We are in regular contact with a project manager of the factory in order to professionally and qualitatively prepare all the elements necessary for manufacturing. It is the same factory than for our first game Big Monster.
We’ve used realistic estimates to account for unknowns and bumps in the road. Our main fufillment partner is Meeple logistics, except for US and Canada.
Publishing a board game is always a risky business. Many problems can arise, mistakes can be made because a game is not a standard product, it is always custom.
We have benefited from our first experience with Big Monster and also 2 other games (published without Kickstarter campaign : Pirates under Fire and Anludim). We have also benefited from many expert advice from the publishing industry to prevent the maximum risk. The publisher team consists of 2 people with complementary profiles. Everyone did not count their hours to offer a quality product that was deliverable on time. In France, Explor8 is distributed by Asmodee.
