All of our shoes come with a coconut coir midsole which helps create negative space like a cavity inside the outsole, making our shoes one the lightest out there! The coconut coir midsole not only acts as a light weight space filler but also offers suspension to the insole placed on top of it.

 

The coconut cutouts at the bottom of our shoes are waterproof and give you a sneak peak into the midsole of our shoes reminding you that wearing these highly sustainable shoes made from natural materials you are treading lighter on the planet. Also they make for a great conversation starter 😉

 

 

Our insoles are made from natural latex, which supports and cushions your feet just like a premium latex mattress. Natural latex outperforms memory foam in every way – be it shock absorption or less sweaty feet. Natural Latex offers a mix of a bouncy and cushiony which is difficult to put in words. It’s like having a pep in every step – You’ve got to try it to believe it 🙂

 

 

Our insole liner is made from Australian Merino Wool, which is one of the softest wools and is antibacterial offering unparalleled odor control allowing you to wear them without socks.

 

The combination of our carefully selected natural materials such as bamboo upper and merino wool insole lining helps make our shoes extremely cozy, making them ideal for lounging as well as those long days.

Our shoe upper is made from a bamboo fabric blend, which is softer and cooler than cotton while outperforming it in moisture-wicking and temperature regulation. Bamboo is extremely breathable and highly sweat absorbent, keeping your feet cooler and drier.

 

The bamboo upper fabric of our shoes is coated with Teflon Fabric Protector, which is widely accepted as a gold standard for stain-resistance coating in the textile industry. Also makes it easier to wipe off dirt so you can wear them longer without a wash.

Our outsoles are constructed with a blend of EVA + Rubber which helps keep our shoes light without compromising on the grip.

Our EVA + Rubber outsole is extremely sturdy and grippy offering exterior support, whereas the natural latex insole in the interior offers better balance as compared to memory foam insoles.

Our shoes are made as per standard US sizing. In case you are between sizes, we suggest you size up.

We don’t share EU sizes for our shoes because EU sizes vary a lot across brands and it can get confusing and misleading. In case you follow only EU sizes and don’t know your US or UK shoe size, we recommend you measure your foot length in CM or Inches and identify your correct shoe size from the chart above.

Risks and challenges

BAUBAX is a Kickstarter born brand and we’ve been in the business of designing and manufacturing travel apparel since 2015. Our team has extensive experience in fabric design and manufacturing high-quality apparel as well as fulfilling hundreds of thousands of orders. This is the 2.0 version of our shoes and the feedback from the previous campaign has been taken into consideration to help improve our designs and sizing. We have our manufacturers lined up, and our production team is waiting for our signal.

We’ve had our fair share of manufacturing hiccups in one of our earlier campaigns and we’ve dealt with them in a transparent, responsible way by keeping our backers updated and we’ve always delivered all of our commitments towards our backers. Should any issues come up, you can be confident we will handle them with transparency and utmost care for you.

Supply Chain Risk: We’re incredibly proud of our supply chain and are confident that we can fulfill all the orders. But sometimes things happen, such as fabric delays due to the yarn being stuck in customs, etc. We’ve added buffer time for such events, but sometimes it’s not enough. If anything should arrive late we will get through it together.

The BAUBAX brand is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Jamiak, Inc., and is run under the leadership of our President Mr. Jason Akatiff. The new leadership team has extensive experience in international supply chain and we are more confident than ever on our promise of delivering all the rewards to our backers.
