Hello my name is Jermaine Hargrove. I’m the CEO/Founder of Small Town Animation Studios & The Animation TV Network. I’m a Type 1 diabetic and the creator of Gumshe. GUMSHE: The Type 1 Protector is a 3D animated health and wellness movie about an African American Type 1 diabetic superhero named GUMSHE. Diabetes is killing people all over the world.  This campaign is very important not only to me but for the youth. My diabetes movie will entertain, inspire and educate the world about diabetes. This campaign will allow me to tell my truth and experience living with Type 1 diabetes and hopefully save lives while doing so.

 

 

 

 

This animation story is superhero based with amazing animation and special effects,  The visuals have to be top quality in order for the youth to stay engaged. We are going to hire the best animators, modelers, character developers and illustrators to assist us with the quality we are look to accomplish. Top quality animation is very expensive. To accomplish this we would need to raise $250,000. If we were to raise less than that we can still get work done but only a small portion of what needs to be done. We will model, texture ,and rig as many characters with the amount we do raise.

Diabetes prevention and awareness has never been done in this cool ,entertaining, inspiring way. All of our donors will be making history right along with us. We can guarantee after this film is released diabetes awareness and prevention will never be looked at the same. The impact of a health film with this type quality will be phenomenal .This film will inspire the youth to make better health choices, It will empower those with diabetes to never give up and continue to live and not die.

One of the challenges while making this movie is keeping control of the story. Being able to tell my story the way I lived it and not have to water it down because of how a Hollywood studio wants to tell it. Also keep ownership of it. This film is loosely based on my life so crowdfunding will allow me to keep ownership of the Gumshe brand.
