“Why hide the magical movement of the Tourbillon?”

The project to create THE ARCHER series started when the chief designer of ZEROOTIME, SYUU, asked himself this question. In common mechanical watches, a plate is embedded to fix the complex nature of the movement. Because of this plate, the majority of the movement itself is often hidden away. I want everyone to enjoy the beautiful movement from all angles. With this in mind, we continue to develop new watch models for our customers.

What we seek in a full skeleton watch is the “ultimate form of transparency”. With a movement created into such a beautiful skeleton, its case had to also be developed into a skeleton structure by removing the plate which fixes the movement of the watch. Much focus was given to be able to enjoy the full view of the movement.

ZEROO T series evolution

The T1 THE ARCHER’s round shape, the second generation T2’s square shape, and the third generation model T4’s tonneau-shaped were developed in order to capture light into the case and to enjoy the Tourbillon movement at all angles. Due to the complexity in its shape to allow light to be captures into the case from the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock marks where the belt is attached, as well as restrictions in the CNC manufacturing phase where only 3 watches can be built in one day, it was a challenging design for a craftsman. However, this allowed the realization of a one of a kind design, a structure that firmly stabilizes the movement as well as allows one to enjoy the view of the entire movement.

The movement

The movement, which is the heart of the watch, was created especially for the ZEROO full skeleton tourbillon in collaboration with tourbillon specialist manufacturers. The average daily rate is within ±10~20 seconds.

The frame case

The frame case is made out of 316L stainless steel which is the same material used in luxury watch brands. The color will not be faded or rubbed off.

Dial and case back using scratch-resistant sapphire crystal

By mounting 1st grade sapphire glass on the top and bottom of the case, the beautiful movement of the Tourbillon can be appreciated from all angles with its high transparency and trusted durability.

Using the same high quality material used by luxury brands, the inner movement and gears of the watch can be viewed and enjoyed thoroughly.

The double mainspring mechanism allows up to 70 hours of power reserve

The ZEROO T4 is a manual winding timepiece. You can wind the spring by turning the crown clockwise. Since the crown is the part which is most often used, a lot of consideration has been given to create it in the best size and usability. You can enjoy viewing the beauty and precision of the springs winding-up.

*Due to the delicate nature of the watch, we recommend no more than 60 rotations at a time

*To avoid overwind the watch, please pay attention to winding and stop winding if you feel resistance from the crown

Crown & Rubber ring

The T4’s crown has a non-slip rubber wrapped around, which was first used in ZEROO’s T2 SQUARE model. It serves as a an important accent to the watch’s design.

Exclusive “fluorine” rubber strap

The strap, which is made of fluorine rubber, was also designed from scratch to match the T4 Tonneau-case. This material is known for its high resistance against water, chemicals, weather, ozone and low-temperature. Due to its high quality, it is a material that is often used in facilities in the food, pharmaceutical and medical industry.
After you receive the watch, please measure your wrist size and use a cutter to adjust the length of the strap. 

The rubber strap with a convenient D-Buckle

The D-Buckle has been carefully designed to give it a gentle curve, so that when the belt is tightened it fits beautifully around one’s wrist.

Super-LumiNova luminous

The Super-LumiNova finishing is applied on the inner bezel index and clock hands, adding a beautiful luminous shimmer to the design as well as serve the functionality to read time easily in the dark.

To seek for the ultimate form of transparency

The markers around the 45 minutes indicator on the T1’s inner bezel have been removed, to enjoy viewing the rotation of the Tourbillon from all angles.

T4 comes with engraved serial numbers

T4 has engraved serial numbers. Limited edition of 1,000 watches in each color.

The Movement

The T3 LEO Skeleton Tourbillon movement is automatic. The see-through case back made out of sapphire glass which allows you to enjoy watching the movement of the rotor and the springs winding-up.

The origin of the series name

The ZEROO timepieces are all given the name of a zodiac sign. The T3 was named THE LEO, to express qualities such as strength and dynamism.

The perfect case developed for the self-winding movement

The part that houses the dome-shaped dial made of sapphire crystal has been made a size smaller than before, into a design which looks as if a powerful ring is set around the case. The case back is a screw back type using see-through sapphire crystal, so you can fully enjoy watching the movement from behind. Enjoy the rotation of the pendulum rotor and the winding of the mainspring.

ZEROO’s first ever self-winding movement

T3 LEO can be hand-wound as well. One can enjoy hand-winding as the main function for daily use, and the rotor as a secondary function. The case back has been designed to maximize the size of the crystal surface to increase visibility of the movement. The engraving on the edge is in matte to maintain a stylish look.

Exclusive stainless strap

T3 LEO watch strap is ZEROO’s first ever original metal press strap. To differentiate from existing types, the strap was created from scratch including the production of the mold, in order to realize a dynamic and bold exterior.

Comparison of tourbillon’s value to the price of ZEROO T3 & T4

The world’s three grand complications are the tourbillon, the minute repeater, and the perpetual calendar, and wristwatches containing any one of these are sold by luxury watch brands for hundreds of thousands of dollars. By relying on crowdfunding (where we circumvent barriers like retail costs, brand markups, showroom fees, expensive exhibitions) and delivering to-order watches directly to passionate consumers, we have been able to make and sell watches at their ‘true cost’.

360° Transparent watch box

A suitable vanity case for the ZEROO T3 & T4 has been developed from T1 & T2’s wooden box to transparent watch case. We wanted to add more futuristic taste for our customer’s box-opening experience.

An original case to suit the beauty of the tourbillon movement

The team was very particular on creating an outstanding case that rightfully showcased the craftsmanship of the movement, as its beauty could only be fully appreciated with a full skeleton design. Light needs to reach all angles in order to appreciate the beauty of the movement: in order to achieve this concept, there was the need to develop an entirely transparent case from scratch. In order to let the slightest of more light, the lug pieces are also made in skeleton. It was especially difficult to realize the skeleton design for the side exterior, which resulted in many trials until reaching a convincing quality.

Clock hands are also crafted in a skeleton design. Countless revisions and fine adjustments were made so that the clock hands do not get in the way of viewing the movement, as well as to serve its main functionality to read time with ease.

Japan Quality

ZEROO T3 & T4 THE ARCHER are manufactured in China. Manufacturing of watch parts used by watchmakers all over the world, including luxury Swiss watch brands, can hardly be discussed without taking into account China’s manufacturing technology. All products by ZEROOTIME are originally designed at the company’s Tokyo Studio. To realize ZEROOTIME’s policy – to provide high quality products affordably – a lot of thought is put into product development on a daily basis. Once mock-ups are created in-house, thorough communication is made with watch parts manufacturers. Multiple test runs are repeated under rigorous quality check whether it is the manufacturing of the parts or creating a sample product. By managing such processes internally instead of outsourcing, speedy product development, reliable quality and cost reduction has been realized. Final inspection and quality control of all products are conducted at the Tokyo Studio. If there are any products that don’t meet the required standard, they are disassembled to be adjusted and reconstructed, then undergo a final checking process such as water resistance test to ensure that only finished products with guaranteed quality are shipped.

2 year warranty period

ZEROO T3 & T4 THE ARCHIER comes with a 2 year warranty. Any watch within the warrant period can be repaired by ZEROOTIME without charge if it is within the scope of natural damages (whether it can be classified as a natural damage or not will be judged carefully by ZEROOTIME after receiving the product). We kindly ask customers to cover shipping expenses for sending and receiving the product for repair. *If there are any traces of the case-back being opened or any traces of repair by the customer (or repair shops), we may not be able to cover the repairs under the warranty. *If you lose the warranty certificate you will not be eligible for the warranty anymore.

Overhaul Service

COA (Cleaning, Oiling and Adjusting) will be charged 500USD (incl. tax) per once. We recommend the overhaul service every 3 – 5 years depends on usage. The overhaul service takes 2 months to be completed and ship-back.

We kindly ask customers to cover shipping expenses for sending and receiving the product for overhaul.

Import tax

You may be required to pay customs duties when you receive your goods. The amount varies depend on country, but usually it will be between $0 ~ $50 per item. If you want to know your import tax, please let us know your country so we can calculate for you.

About water resistance of T4 THE ARCHER

Arched curves are a feature of the design of the case and glass surfaces of this product. The process in realizing this design and ensuring airtightness is extremely complex. The same is true for all luxury brands that use this design, and although each company makes various efforts to improve water resistance, its structure remains delicate and fragile. Therefore, if you treat your watch like a normal wristwatch, water may enter unexpectedly. Therefore we ask you to be cautious when using it close to water. We kindly ask you to avoid the following: – Opening the back cover by yourself – Using the watch with the crown open (be mindful not to forget to close it) – Splashing water onto the watch – Bathing with the watch on – Exposing the watch to water when washing your hands

ABOUT US

ZEROO TIME Co., Ltd is a watchmaker based in the outskirts of Tokyo, which was established in December 2017. In 2018, it released ZEROO ART, a fashion watch without hands. In August 2018, it officially started the sales of its wristwatches. Since then, it has continued to produce innovative wristwatches and in August 2020 the CLASSIC MOON PHASE I was released. There are several other projects that are currently ongoing. The T1 THE ARCHER which was recently produced is positioned as one of the main projects for the company, with all of the resources being devoted into its development.

ZEROO is a new watch brand that is produced by watchmaker ZEROO TIME Co., Ltd. Under the motto “redefining watches from scratch”, ZEROO TIME Co., Ltd has been producing unique hand watches.

In 2018, ZEROOTIME released a fashion watch series ZEROO ART.

In 2020, the CLASSIC moonphase I series and full skeleton tourbillon watches were released, and the project launched on Makuake which is a Japanese crowdfunding platform, ended in success as it achieved its target in just one week resulting in a total of 500,000 USD in funds.

Two additional projects which were recently launched, the C2 CLASSIC moonphase II series which is a reconstruction of the moon phase, and the skeleton mechanical M1 series, a tonneau watch with an ultra-thin hand-wounded movement installed, were also successful.

There are three product categories in the ZEROO brand: ART, MODERN, TOURBILLON and CLASSIC.

The ART and MODERN series consist of an unique and dynamic product line-up, where as the CLASSIC series consist of watches that respect tradition and history, which can be positioned as the “origin of watches”.

ZEROOTIME bases its core belief in “redefining watches from scratch”, and seeks to deliver high quality but affordable products.

The team at ZEROOTIME are making their utmost effort with strong determination to drive the ZEROO T3 & T4 project in partner with local teams and manufacturers. However, there may incur slight changes in the design or specifications throughout the development process. Furthermore, shipping delays may occur due to issues such as manufacturing delays, weather, situation of the recent pandemic. If any delays or changes are to occur, it will be announced on official platforms as soon as confirmed.
