Berlin-based Amperecloud, a leader in energy asset management, has successfully raised €3.3 million in a Series A+ financing round. The investment was led by Encevo, one of Europe’s prominent sustainable energy companies, with participation from Point9, Vireo Electrification Fund, and existing shareholders. This brings Amperecloud’s total funding to €9 million.
With the fresh capital infusion, Amperecloud is set to enhance its existing products and accelerate its international expansion. Currently active in Germany, Europe, and South America, the company aims to extend its reach globally. Amperecloud’s cutting-edge software and hardware solutions are already trusted by over 400 companies for efficient renewable energy portfolio management.
Founded in 2019, Amperecloud has rapidly emerged as a key player in the photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) monitoring sector. The company envisions becoming a comprehensive operating system for renewable energies, leveraging the new funds and Encevo’s expertise to continuously advance its offerings.
Frederik Merz, CEO of Amperecloud, emphasized the need for streamlined IT solutions in the renewable energy sector. “The market’s fragmented IT landscape leads to significant manual efforts and poor data quality. Amperecloud serves as a central operating system, addressing these issues. Our platform integrates data from all assets and connects seamlessly with other tools like ERP and BI systems. It also automates workflows such as monitoring, reporting, and maintenance management. We’re excited to continue this journey with Encevo, a major investor in renewable energies.”
Encevo, which operates a PV portfolio with over one-gigawatt peak capacity through its subsidiaries and holds investments in over 4,000 assets in wind power and storage, recognizes the transformative potential of Amperecloud’s technology. Nicolas Milerioux, Head of Venture Capital at Encevo, commented on the investment: “Amperecloud has demonstrated significant success over the past five years. We believe they have the potential to create an operating system for all renewable energies, facilitating seamless integration for our customers and enhancing output and marketing capabilities, including power storage solutions. To date, we haven’t seen a comparable solution on the European market offering such extensive functionalities with open interfaces.”
Amperecloud’s innovative approach addresses critical challenges in the renewable energy sector by providing a unified platform that enhances efficiency and data quality. The company’s growth and the continued development of its platform will be instrumental in supporting the global transition to renewable energy. With this latest funding round, Amperecloud is well-positioned to lead the way in creating a more efficient, integrated, and automated renewable energy landscape. The company’s vision to become the operating system for renewable energies is not just ambitious but essential for a sustainable future.
