Madrid-based startup Nido has raised 5 million euros in seed funding to accelerate the adoption of residential heat pumps and support Europe’s energy transition. The investment will help the company enhance its AI-driven platform, streamline installation processes, and expand into new markets.
The funding round saw participation from Iberdrola, Ship2B Ventures, Zubi Labs, Decelera Ventures, and Silence VC, along with institutional support from the Instituto Valenciano de Finanzas, the city of Valencia, and ENISA. Additionally, 15 business angels joined the round, reinforcing confidence in Nido’s potential to reshape the residential heating sector.
Nido’s platform simplifies the entire heat pump installation process by connecting installers, suppliers, and homeowners. Through AI-powered automation and 3D modeling (BIM) technology, it generates installation guides and material lists in seconds, reducing execution times by up to 75%.
CEO Germán Peralta sees this investment as a major milestone for the company’s growth. “This funding allows us to integrate AI into our platform, expand our engineering team, and optimize our marketplace to connect key players in the energy sector more efficiently. Our goal is to be a leading technology partner in the transition to a more sustainable future.”
Founded in 2023, Nido has already facilitated heat pump installations in 10 autonomous communities in Spain, reducing more than 420 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The company’s revenue surged from 250,000 euros in its first year to 1 million euros in 2024, signaling strong demand for its technology-driven approach.
Investors see Nido as a key player in the energy transition. Oscar Cantalejo, Head of Perseo at Iberdrola, highlighted the impact of the company’s innovation. “Nido’s technology is bringing more efficient and sustainable heating solutions to homes with real and measurable decarbonization effects.”
With this fresh investment, Nido is setting its sights on expansion into major European markets, including France and Germany. The company is actively seeking partnerships with energy firms, installers, and suppliers to scale its impact and accelerate the adoption of heat pumps as a clean energy solution for residential heating.
