Plaace’s €885K Funding Boost Revolutionizing Nordic Commercial Properties

Oslo-based Plaace, an innovative player in the property technology (proptech) sector, has recently secured an impressive €885k in an investment round, spearheaded by RunwayFBU. This financial infusion, coupled with strategic support, is set to catapult Plaace’s ambitious expansion plans across the Nordic region. This round of funding also saw contributions from existing investors OBOS and Blommenholm Industrier, along with a €177k grant from Innovation Norway.

Snorre Jordheim Myhre, the CEO and co-founder of Plaace, expressed his excitement: “This investment is a testament to our hard work throughout 2023 and the tangible results it has yielded. With this new capital, Plaace is poised to strengthen our commercial scaling efforts and continue delivering unparalleled value to our clients in the Nordic region.”

Hanna Selvaag Wangsmo, Investment Manager at RunwayFBU, also commented on the investment: “Plaace’s approach to digitizing a traditionally less digitized industry through user-friendly decision support systems aligns perfectly with our investment strategy. Their team’s remarkable execution skills, coupled with the potential for international growth, make this a promising venture for us.”

2023 was a landmark year for Plaace, marked by a significant revenue increase – a tripling of its income, to be precise. The company has made substantial strides in the market, securing contracts with 50 paying customers, including renowned names like KLP Eiendom, Elkjøp, Norli, and Europris. To support its growth trajectory, Plaace has expanded its commercial team, now boasting six professionals across sales, marketing, and customer success.

Established in 2020, Plaace has quickly emerged as a dynamic force in the proptech landscape. With an eye on 2024, the company is gearing up for an even more active year, engaging with key players in the Nordic market.

The retail industry, currently undergoing significant transformation, underscores the growing need for data-driven strategies. Plaace, riding the wave of this trend, is anticipating an upsurge in interest and demand for its innovative services. The company is strategically poised to leverage its unique solutions to address the evolving needs of the commercial real estate sector.

As the proptech landscape continues to evolve, Plaace stands out as a beacon of innovation and growth. Its recent funding success not only highlights the industry’s confidence in its vision but also underscores the increasing importance of technology in reshaping commercial real estate. With its eye firmly on the future, Plaace is set to redefine how commercial properties are managed and optimized in the Nordic region and beyond.
