Solidroad, a Dublin-based AI platform, has successfully raised €1.1 million to enhance its innovative approach to hiring, onboarding, and training customer-facing teams. This funding round, led by notable investors including Dan Kiely (co-founder of Voxpro), Jack Pierce (co-founder of Wayflyer), Ciaran Lee (co-founder of Intercom), Anne Heraty of CPL, and former PayPal executive Louise Phelan, marks a significant milestone for the company. Their support underscores the transformative potential of Solidroad’s technology, aimed at revolutionizing how companies train their customer-facing staff.
With this new influx of capital, Solidroad plans to expand its team, accelerate product development, and advance its AI capabilities. The focus is on providing top-notch hiring, onboarding, and training solutions that set a new standard in enterprise training innovation.
Solidroad was founded in 2023 by Mark Hughes and Patrick Finlay, who crossed paths while working at Intercom. Mark Hughes, who had previously founded and sold Gradguide, a mentorship and training platform, recognized the challenges of scaling personalized training and assessment. He saw the potential of AI to transform these processes and partnered with Patrick Finlay, who had demonstrated the impressive capabilities of AI in a language learning app he developed. Together, they envisioned a solution that could provide personalized assessment and training at scale for large enterprises using cutting-edge AI technology.
“Solidroad currently acts like a ‘flight-simulator’ for customer-facing teams,” explained Mark Hughes, co-founder and CEO of Solidroad. “Our software allows customer experience (CX) agents to practice realistic conversations with AI prospects and customers, receiving personalized performance feedback from our AI coach. This approach significantly enhances skills, reduces ramp times, and increases training effectiveness.”
Solidroad’s platform has already attracted attention from industry leaders. Design partner customers such as ActiveCampaign, Ryanair, and Three Mobile are experiencing the benefits of personalized, scalable training. The software’s ability to simulate real customer interactions and deliver customized training at scale is particularly advantageous for companies dealing with high volumes of customer engagements and continuous staff training needs.
“We’re excited to use this investment to bring our vision to more businesses, helping them improve their training processes and ultimately their customer experience outcomes,” added Patrick Finlay, co-founder and CTO of Solidroad. “This funding is a testament to the hard work of our team and the trust our investors have in our potential.”
As Solidroad continues to grow and innovate, the company is poised to set new standards in the enterprise training sector. By leveraging AI to deliver personalized and effective training solutions, Solidroad is not only enhancing the skills of customer-facing teams but also improving overall customer experience outcomes for businesses worldwide.
