It’s rare that you have a groundbreaking script that generates the excitement this has and takes on such a difficult and controversial subjects as gender identity and intergenerational relationship.
Nineteen-year-old TOM graduates from high school and struggles against the domineering influence of his mother as he explores his gender identity and falls in love with an older man.
The Director
Director Jules Aaron is thrilled to be undertaking the world premier of this new work and feels that it is one of the most touching and realistic plays that has come along in ages.

There really is no better place to launch this controversial piece about a young man’s struggle to find his gender identity than the Hudson Theatre on Santa Monica Boulevard in the heart of HOLLYWOOD, California.

The Writer
David Sessions, who the LA TIMES has called ‘especially first rate’, grew up in Berkeley, California and studied playwriting in New York City before moving to Los Angeles.

Our Characters
The Winter Son takes place in The Present – in and around Toledo, Ohio – and features (6) main characters and an Ensemble of (8) additional actors that play a host of speaking and non-speaking supporting parts.

Breakdown of Expenses
Not only is the Hudson Theatre a lovely space with an incredible location, it will allow us to use the director and cast that we would want for an Off Broadway production and bring the show to the stage for just over a third of the cost of a typical Off Broadway show.
