Blucap Moto is used in conjunction with the Blucap App via Bluetooth. The App integrates map SDK from  Google Maps and MapBox. It contains all the necessary functions for riding and maintains a classic and simple user interface.

Riders can easily transition from Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze to Blucap Moto’s App.

Actually, Blucap has continuously reduced the battery capacity during the R&D process to make the legs of the glasses as slim as possible.  

Benefit from the highly energy-efficient MicroLED within the light engine and the ultra-low power consumption chip used in Blucap Moto, along with a minimalist and restrained HUD interaction design, we have finally achieved a balance that enables Blucap Moto to support an entire day of riding.

Comfortable wearing experience inside the helmet

Many members of Blucap are riders, we understand the feeling of wearing eyewear when we ride. We have minimized the size and weight of the Blucap Moto to the extreme, ensuring that it is comfortable to wear under a helmet during long rides.

The thin eyeglass legs are made of flexible and skin-friendly material.

By using Blucap’s bicycle accessories or DIY, you can also install the remote control on various equipment such as bicycles or scooters. The Blucap App will update navigation options for bicycle riding later.

 

 

 

Starting from Desire

Zhu Ning initially encountered the problem of using a mobile phone for navigation while riding, and he was unable to find the ideal motorcycle HUD product. As a result, he began to create his own HUD device through DIY efforts.

Journey started

In 2021, Zhu Ning founded Blucap, which gathered a team of committed riders, engineers, designers, eyewear experts, and map system experts. Our dedication to technological innovation and tasteful design drives them to constantly push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of motorcycle riding experience.

We have tried all HUD/AR visual solutions.

 

Built with Patience

Throughout our three-year exploration of our first product, Blucap Moto, we:

• Bravely chosen cutting-edge AR technology to accompany the large-scale production maturity of the supply chain.
• Spent over half a year exploring and verifying a technical solution that could balance the requirements for HUD riding interaction, glasses volume, and power consumption.
• After development was completed, in order to create a more reliable design for quickly releasing the lenses and providing a better visual experience, we decided to redesign the frame and customize a new set of waveguide lenses, even if it meant delaying the product launch for more than half a year.
• Continuously tested and improved the product with feedback from our team’s riders and testing users around the world. We adjusted the prototype of the glasses more than 100 times and continuously optimized the software system.

• Wang Yi: Hardware Engineer. 8 years of experience in the development of microelectronic devices.
• Zhitao Wang: Co-Founder & Product Manager. Motorcycle travel enthusiast who completed a solo trip around China in 2021.

• Jack Cheng: Embedding Engineer. With extensive experience in the development of AI electronic devices and sports smart equipment.

During the past three years of product development, Blucap has collaborated with leading AR suppliers to optimize the components, while continuously conducting product research, development, and testing.

Prototype V1, created in April 2022, showcased the waveguide solution. Through extensive road testing using helmet-mounted development boards and power banks.

Prototype V2, unveiled in September 2022, showcased a fully functional standalone eyewear design, marking a major milestone in the development of Blucap Moto.

Prototype V3, unveiled in February 2023, showcased enhancements in the standalone eyewear and successful validation of core software functionalities.

Prototype V4, unveiled in March 2023, featured a uniquely designed profile, customized AR waveguide lenses, and magnetic attachment for quick and easy lens changes.

Prototype V4.5, unveiled in July 2023, showcased a refined exterior design, further optimized customized AR waveguide lenses, a quick-release mechanism for easy lens swapping, and validation of the prescription lens solution for nearsighted individuals.

Finally, Blucap Moto has completed the preparation of the key technical confirmation before mass production.
