What is AMT Tweeter?
AMT pneumatic treble is characterized by higher efficiency and wider frequency response than the traditional dynamic treble. It’s a very thin, flat diaphragm folded into a bellows, like an organ, so the actual area of the diaphragm is larger than what you can see. It squeezes air out with higher efficiency so that the sound pressure it produces is particularly large. How does it manifest itself in sound? In short, it enables you to grasp more music details. The so-called musical details are not just the sound of some gongs and drums, lip and tooth sounds, triangle iron or tambourine, but also the sense of space, residual sound, rhyme, timbre, texture and so on – that’s where the richness and reality of listening to music come from. OE Audio was founded by Anison Wang in 2008. Anison has been engaged in research and development in the audio industry for decades, developing high-end loudspeakers and acoustic systems for well-known European and American audio brands. Over the years, he has obtained several Chinese invention patents and utility model patents in the field of acoustics and earned over 100 certificates and awards.
In 2016, we received tens of millions worth of equity from venture capital institutions, which finally allowed us to start developing our own line of high-end speakers. These were quickly awarded the Red Dot Award and the IF Award for industrial design acoustics in Germany.
For OEPLAY, our team went back to basics. Most speakers on the market are designed to be square-shaped, and over the years, this design has led to aesthetic fatigue, as it lacks novelty and sparkle. But using first principles thinking, we realized that the spherical shape is the most perfect design for a sound box, which has a beautiful appearance and solves the problem of standing wave distortion inside the sound box.
This was not without its challenges, as the manufacturing process for spherical shapes is complicated, and it would be hard to integrate an AMT pneumatic tweeter into the wireless Bluetooth speaker. But with our deep understanding of speaker design and manufacturing, we were able to create a unique speaker with rich sound at a relatively low cost.
