After creating 2 versions of Phi Ruler that were a great success in Kickstarter, Japan and Korea markets, our team wants to create an artistic collection for anyone who loves sketching and design. We understand the importance of golden ratio application on every aspect from printed materials to User Interface design. The new design is an ultimate design tool that has a cool outlook, useful, handy and user-friendly for designers. Phi ruler is a tool you need for every aspect of design to imply golden ratio not limited to sketching on printed design, Typography design, product and logo design, architecture and interior design.
Phi Ruler (Artistry Edition), New Patterns & Golden Ratio
Inspired by geometric patterns from the 16th century, the new design has an artistic pattern, as well as a golden ratio art piece collection. Phi (φ) with number 1.618 was marked on the ruler. Many things in nature have dimensional properties that adhere to the golden ratio of 1.618. We believe that the new design of Phi Ruler shows the mathematical concept of the golden ratio, as well as assisting users to sketch for beginners to understand the theory behind golden ratio, as well as an artistic stationery.

The golden circles – The philosophy of spacing and form
Golden Circles can be applied to designs of all kinds. It is very easy for you to draw a perfect circle with presentable proportioned shapes and patterns. This practice helps you to make decisions about spacing and enhance visualization of the design to real.
Phi ruler allows designers to sketch 12 sets of circles, further enhancing the different ratio of geometry and polygon.

Golden triangle and Fibonacci spiral
A Fibonacci spiral starts with a rectangle partitioned into 2 squares. By bisecting one of the base angles, a new point is created that in turn, makes another golden triangle. The bisection process can be continued infinitely, creating an infinite number of golden triangles, forming an equiangular spiral. A philosopher RenĂ© Descartes, also known as Father of equiangular spiral, once said “If a straight line is drawn from the pole to any point on the curve, it cuts the curve at precisely the same angle”
By using the phi ruler, it is very easy to sketch advanced patterns such as “Flower Of Life”, Platonic Polyhedra and Metatron’s Cube.
The Flower Of Life created by 13 circles in a proportioned ratio. The pattern also contains the three-dimensional Metatron cube, which further enhances the building blocks of Platonic solids.

What is the golden ratio?
φ The golden ratio is a common mathematical ratio equal to 1.618, helping to make pleasing and beautiful shapes and create harmony and structure applied on design. It’s very common to notice the golden ratio on natures, such as ferns, flowers, seashells, even hurricanes. It’s also believed that the Golden Ratio has been in use for at least 4,000 years (or even earlier) in human art, design and architecture, from the Pyramids in Giza to the Parthenon in Athens; from Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
