The Crucoon by Crua is the coziest retreat, quietest oasis, calmest cloud, most tranquil private space on the go. An insulated cocoon that sets up in seconds to provide a calm and quiet space anywhere. Whether reading, sleeping, or just relaxing the sound dampening and light blocking properties of the Crucoon will provide you the privacy you need. And the Graphene-infused insulation will keep you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot in a highly efficient manner. So pack size and weight is super low.
With the Crucoon’s air-beam construction, set-up is a breeze. Just a few pumps and the tent pops up and is ready to use!
While the outside of the Crucoon is not waterproof, it is treated with durable water repellant (DWR), so dew or the accidental spill are no big deal.
When I designed the first Crua tent in 2014 it was simply out of necessity. I couldn’t find a tent that offered me any reasonable level of insulation. I wanted a correctly insulated tent so that my family’s camping experience could be a memorable one. From that first tent, spawned several new insulated tents in all shapes and sizes.
From a 5-6 person “Family” tent to the “Solo” individual insulated tent. Now, we are moving beyond just the tent. We would like to introduce you to the Crucoon… this is not just a tent, it’s so much more. It’s your private space when you are on the go. There is practically no end to where the Crucoon can go. Mattress: this is no ordinary mattress – it’s a “swiss army” mattress! The mattress is made of 2 high-quality self-inflating mattresses. They can be zipped together and laid out flat as a double mattress, folded on top of itself for a super comfy deluxe single mattress, OR unzip them and have 2 great single mattresses. AND the Crucoon’s base has a zippered compartment that fits this mattress when it’s in “double mattress” mode!
Sleeping Bags: The Full Kit’s sleeping bags are also not your ordinary bag. Firstly they are graphene-infused so they are lightweight and amazing at thermo-regulating. But the bags themselves have some really nice touches like:
- zip two together for a double sleeping bag
- no-snag zippers
- a separate zipper on the bottom of the sleeping bag for those that like to let their feet out
- a hood to help keep your head warm
- a hidden pocket to keep your valuables close
- toggles along the side of the sleeping bag to help keep it in shape while packing it up.
With our production plan in place, we should be able to start shipping out later this year in December.

During these uncertain times in the world, shipping costs have gone up significantly, however, we believe these prices should return to normal as the global situation improves. We will be working hard to secure you the best shipping prices. While the Crucoon is already small and lightweight, we are looking to vacuum pack them at the factory to further help us cut down on shipping costs.

Risks and challenges
The Nature of Crowdfunding: While there are always risks & challenges with creating and delivering a new product, we’ve minimized both by having the entire process, from production to delivery, already set and arranged. We’ve already signed agreements with key suppliers and manufacturers, and our prototype has been finalized. We have the technical expertise when it comes to outdoor gear, and this is our eleventh crowdfunding campaign. We’ve got quite a bit of experience under our belts at this stage. We also now contract an independent Quality Control manager to check and report on all production activities. This offers an extra layer of certainty.
Designs & Colors: The versions we use for filming and photography are often earlier prototypes. Some design elements and colors may be slightly different on the actual products (but they won’t be a million miles away from what you see here).
Refund Policy: Once the campaign has ended, refunds cannot be given out. One of the key outcomes of crowdfunding is you are funding production. You pledge your money to fund the production and we promise to deliver you a product. If an item is damaged or incorrect, please reach out to us directly and we will make it right, ASAP. Please only back this campaign if you are certain you like the product and you are aware of the timeline and potential shipping time to your location.
Delays due to COVID-19: Some areas of the world are still undergoing lockdowns and shipping delays due to the pandemic. This has the potential to affect the final timeline. We will do everything in our power to keep you updated throughout the production and delivery process.
