A high-resolution autofocus camera module for all Raspberry Pi models.

Story

16MP Camera Module for All Pis

2 times higher resolution than the v2 camera, 40% higher than the HQ camera.

Based on the 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor, this new camera module gives all Raspberry Pi hackers every bit of power they need to build future-proof projects.

V1/V2 Size, with Autofocus.

The community has been craving autofocus in Pi cameras, and we took the advice.

We gave this camera the classic V1/V2 form-factor so you can add hassle-free upgrades to your existing projects, or build new applications with the best flexibility on cameras.

Crisper Images/Videos Than The HQ Camera

It’s not just the resolution bump, the “quality” is way higher than the HQ Camera too.

With the same camera tuning algorithms from the foundation, this module beats the Raspberry Pi HQ camera in every aspect. (sharpness/saturation/exposure/etc.)

Open Source for Everyone

Less for us, more for you.

We want it to help push the Raspberry Pi and embedded ML/MV forward, everything about this camera will be truly open source.

You Can Also Put the Camera 15 Meters Away From the Cable Extension Kit (Compatible With Official Cameras Too)

Or Connect 4 Cameras to One Pi With The Synchronized Quad-Camera Kit

Or have them synchronized, multiplexed, and extended with a combo like this

Or Pair The 16MP-NoIR with Optical Filters for Multispectral Imaging

Notes on Shipping

Normally, shipping fees will be collected after the campaign.

Shipping, duty, and VAT are not included in any of the perks and add-ons.

For standard delivery, we may use SF Express international shipping. (for certain countries, we may ship from overseas warehouses.)

For expedited delivery, we mainly use DHL.

Once the shipping fee’s collected, preparation usually takes weeks. ( it depends on the actual volume we get from the campaign).

All shipping methods come with valid tracking numbers. (available as soon as it’s shipped.)

For reference, here’s the actual weight of each Perk/Add-on:

If you are in UK/EU (Especially Germany)

While we were on Kickstarter, we received many complaints about the shipping charges toward EU countries.

This time, we are working on better shipping solutions with various shipping companies, and there will be lower beginning rates and multiple options for people in those areas.

for packages over 1kg/2.2lbs

In our Kickstarter campaign, we offered only express shipping for multiple reasons:

  • With standard shipping, a package may go through multiple carriers.
  • We’ve had lost packages before.
  • Longer delivery time.

We will also be offering multiple options and lower rates for those exceeding 1kg.

Risks and challenges

We have been building camera solutions for Raspberry Pi for the past 10 years.

The Arducam 16MP camera is a completed product, and mass production has already been planned.

Just like everybody else, we are affected by chip shortages too, we will do our best to ensure that all backers get their rewards without delays.

Here’s our goal:

– Make Raspberry Pi a versatile platform for all types of embedded machine vision and industrial applications.

– Help the foundation reach more industry users who are looking for cost-saving vision systems.

– Make computer vision and imaging science more accessible to researchers and practitioners.
