A Hands-Free Portable Body Cooler with Misting Function

Previously, Cool Human® introduced a rechargeable hands-free cooling fan that clips onto the belt and blows air under the shirt, a perfect way to cool the body when sweating.

We now introduce a new model of Cool Human® under-the-shirt cooler with additional use functions, the Cool Human® Hands-Free Portable Misting Body Cooler.  The only cooler that can simultaneously blow air and mist under your shirt! 

The new cooler can:

1. Blow air and mist under the shirt at the same time, 

2. Function as a hands-free neck misting cooler.

The Cool Human® Portable Misting Body Cooler can be used to blow air and mist up under the chin by hanging around the neck using the included adjustable lanyard.  When you feel especially hot, bring the cooler close to your face and let a blast of fresh water mist cool you down fast!

3. Function as a desktop misting cooler.

The Cool Human® Portable Misting Body Cooler has a flip out stand, enabling you to place it on your desk and feel cool while working.

How to use:

Both air control and misting are done through the same button. 

• Short push = control wind speed
• Long push = control misting function

About the Misting function:

The cooler contains a 40ml (1.35 fl oz.) capacity water tank reservoir which  provides a water source for mist released from the top of the cooler.  There is also a cotton swab that draws up the water to the top of the cooler. Just fill the tank with water, close it, wait a couple minutes for the cotton swab to fully absorb the water and you’re ready to get misty!

Here is a short video of how to change the water tank.

A)  Continuous flow: the mist comes out continuously until the water tank is empty. This takes about 1 hour to empty.  The flow rate is 40ml/hr. 

B) Intermittent flow: The mist comes out  for 4 seconds and then stops for 4 seconds.  This prolongs the use of the tank by up to double (~2 hours). 

The misting function is very effective for:

• Hot flashes (hold close to the face so the cool mist directly bathes the skin and the wind from the fan evaporates it instantly for extra refreshing coolness)
• Blowing mist under the shirt for an extra burst of coolness.  

Note that the mist release rate is moderate at 40ml/hr.

This is for 2 reasons.

1. If the mist comes out too strongly, the water tank will empty too quickly. So we want the preserve the usefulness of the misting function so the water tank does not need to be replaced so frequently.  

2. Too strong a misting function will wet the shirt too much if you use the cooler to blow mist under your shirt.  

Additional Features of the Cool Human® Portable Misting Body Cooler

Hands-free design: Sturdy large pants/belt clip for use when blowing air under your shirt. Lanyard for use when blowing air/mist under your chin. Desk stand for use when using on a table top or desk.

Rechargeable: Recharge time of about 2.5 hours. USB-C compatible.

Invisible. Air input port is covered and there is a gap where air can enter, so air input never gets blocked by your clothing so you can hide the cooler completely under your shirt! 

Cools under all conditions. Offers effective upper body cooling in poorly ventilated areas or high humidity.

Portable, lightweight and convenient. Small size (L:13.3cm, W:7.9cm H: 4.1cm (L:5.2 in,, W:3.1 in,, H: 1.6 in), Can be taken anywhere.

Versatile. 3 separate speeds; low (approx. 9-10 hours function), medium (approx. 4 hours function) and high (approx. 2 hours function).

Silent. Barely audible at the lowest setting with normal ambient sound, and non-obvious at higher air flow settings when outside.

It is important to try and reduce the energy footprint we leave on the environment, especially in this day and age.

The Cool Human® Hands-Free Portable Misting Body Cooler can reduce this energy burden by only cooling your body’s microclimate (the immediate area next to your body) not entire rooms.  This offers the benefits of:

• Decreased CFCs, HFCs, and HFO’s created through the over-use of air conditioners
• Decreased energy use (decreased CO2 release)
• Significant cost savings over time

Risks & Challenges

This is my second project involving production of an electronic cooling gadget. I am much better prepared for the challenges of producing as well as importing and transporting such gadgets. So to ensure that all backers will get their coolers, I will be shipping in bulk to each country to store at a fulfillment warehouse in each country so there will be less risk with time to receive the product. Note however, that since we are still technically in a pandemic, there may be unavoidable delays. However, I have been assured that production will be swift; all product components are ready and I already have distribution channels in place.
