Rapid Flow™ quick dry system is a game changer for waterproof jackets. Its design optimizes the wearers’ experience by removing the moisture fast, achieving more than what a piece of waterproof fabric can do.

Integrating far infrared technology in the inner part of the jacket, HOMI TheHood keeps you toasty and helps blood circulation, providing optimum comfort wherever you go.

As far infrared rays are low in transmittance, the higher the emissivity, the better the effect. The lining of HOMI TheHood can absorb, emit, and reflect far infrared rays from the human body. The ray can go through the skin to resonate and generate heat, which boosts blood flow and relieves muscle pain.

Our far infrared treatment and fabric have high emissivity of 92% under 20°C, meaning that the far infrared function has excellent performance under normal temperature, while other brands might boast a high emissivity but only under very high temperature that cannot be achieved during everyone’s daily life.

Versatile Pockets for Easy Storage

When venturing out, it’s always better to keep it light, but it doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice on the crucial EDC objects. In HOMI TheHood, you can find various practical pockets to help you carry all the essentials without a backpack. These pockets allow quick access to your essentials and offer complete coverage and protection of your important items.

The tailor-made size EDC pockets with upward opening and allows great protection and quick access to your frequently used items.

Different from the traditional velcro that is noisy every time you open and close, our quick access pockets are equipped with silent velcro which closes seamlessly without a sound, and it makes your pocket neat and flat.

Silent velcros keep your pockets quietly stylish, no noise and no bulk.

The pull is well hidden beneath the opening, which is easy for the user to locate but difficult for the pickpockets to spot.

For the main pockets on both sides, we applied anti-theft zippers that keeps your belongings guarded safely.

HOMI TheHood also has massive storage spaces, we designed 8 pockets in total so you can easily carry all the essentials in just one jacket without an extra bag.

Built-In Face Mask

Face mask works as a protection against all sorts: cold, rain, snow, or even viruses during this post-pandemic era. It also functions as a scarf that covers up the area from your nose to the neck, one less thing you need to carry around!

It also has a magnetic closure system which quickly closes together to cover your face and snaps into the hood when not in use.

Water Repellent & Windproof Outer Layer

Get caught up in the sudden rain? HOMI TheHood is here to save the day. We applied a PFC-Free DWR finish to the outermost fabric so that water beads off and rolls off, keeping you comfortably dry even encountering some rain.

Be it a casual stroll or morning jog, HOMI TheHood moves with you and gives you the flexibility to complete all your favorite activities without being stiff and limited.

Along with the 2-way zipper, HOMI TheHood allows greater freedom of movements and provides easier control to body temperature by opening the lower portion.

The hood is adjustable and made to fit all head sizes. Furthermore, when expanded to the biggest, even if you tie a ponytail or wear a cap, the hood will fit comfortably.

The reflective stripe goes around the body so you can be seen from every angle at night. We added 2 triangular shaped reflective patches to further increase the visibility.

HOMI TheHood Pro is designed to handle all the difficult weather conditions without compromising comfort and style. The waterproof rating is a solid 20,000mm that keeps you dry under downpours for a long period of time. Numbers don’t lie, but we also know that they don’t tell the whole story.

Of all the waterproof jackets out there, we noticed that water doesn’t penetrate into the jackets, but it doesn’t really go away either. So the wearer is still far from being dry and fresh. This is why we spent months designing and upgrading our waterproofness!

Triple Layer Lamination

While waterproof jackets effectively keep the water out, it’s crucial to wick the moisture from your body to really keep you dry and comfortable. HOMI TheHood Pro is lined with 3 layers of laminates, making it waterproof, windproof and breathable at the same time.

The special fabric used for its lining has a similar fiber structure to Merino wool, which has a superb moisture vapor transmission rate of 20,000g/m²/24h, making HOMI TheHood Pro extremely breathable.

The far infrared treated lining generates warmth with the natural heat from your body without any use of battery. A thin layer of air is formed between the lining and the waterproof membrane, allowing great ventilation and wicking the moisture to make you comfortably dry inside out.

Rapid Flowâ„¢ Quick Dry System

What makes a jacket resistant to water depends on the waterproof membrane on the back of the fabric. So the fabric itself is not really waterproof, the added DWR coating can only keep away light showers, water will still saturate under a longer period of time and with higher water pressure. And when this happens, even your skin is not really wet, but the water absorbed will make your jacket heavy and less breathable.

Therefore we designed a unique drainage system Rapid Flow™ to quickly remove the moisture from the surface of the jacket and speed up the drying process to really make the wearer feel comfortable.

Rain usually hits the hood and drips from the entire brim, affecting the sight and making the face wet. HOMI TheHood Pro’s brim guides the water and avoids dripping from the middle . For more protection, you can also use the built-in face mask.

Brim: HOMI TheHood Pro’s brim has a folded design that forms a thin channel, collecting the rain to slide down from both sides and avoids the middle naturally.

To avoid rain going through the whole body before it leaves completely, we designed a rain deflection stripe at the chest as a block.

Chest: The rain stops at the deflection stripe and flows towards the armpit and goes away, reducing the chance of moisture saturation.

The water only drips from the upper back and with the rest of the area remaining dry.

Upper back: The upper back section is designed to be slightly stuck out on top of the fabric at the middle and lower back, allowing it to work like an umbrella.

Cuff and rim are the places where you get the most moisture accumulation. To wick the moisture, we created tiny holes with laser to let water drain through and make them dry faster.

Cuff and rim: The laser cut, tiny holes allow the moisture to leave the jacket fast, keeping this area dry effectively.

With the adjustable cuff, you can tighten it to avoid wind or water going in when venturing out, making HOMI TheHood Pro truly waterproof and windproof.

Needle stitching leaves small holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions. That’s why taping seams is also the key to complete waterproofness, making sure that there’s no missing spaces for water to get in.

Jackets have always been our main product throughout the years, and after designing various jackets for different purposes, this year we took on a new challenge of making a series of tactical jackets. To many’s impressions, tactical jackets seem to be very rigid and military-like, but we’re here to change that – we wanted to design jackets with the same functionality yet with the daily versatility.

We dug into the design of countless jackets out there and modified our ideas to better improve the features. For HOMI TheHood, it’s an everyday outerwear with several dedicated pockets. Taking the habits of modern society, we specially designed rectangular pockets with enough depth to cover your EDC objects completely but still with the convenience for quick access. We tested the function on many occasions, and it’s a detail that really makes a difference. Wearers no longer need to worry about having half of their phones stuck out or falling out.

Prototype with far infrared cared lining

For HOMI TheHood Pro, we spent months investigating how we could really improve the wearer’s comfort in waterproof jackets. We discovered the key to ultimate comfort is the ability to wick the moisture efficiently, and as a result, we came up with the Rapid Flow™ Quick Dry System. We also noticed that many waterproof jackets lose their waterproofness after a short period of time as the taped seams are damaged by  the moisture constantly trapped in the jacket. Therefore we not only made watertight taped seams, and they’re also sandwiched between the super breathable fabrics to stay dry and protected.
