As the designer of the Newtral chair, my name is Stan, and I have a personal connection to the challenges that inspired the creation of our ergonomic products. Back in 2002, while pursuing my Master’s Degree at San Diego State University (SDSU), I experienced severe right-hand pain, which was later diagnosed as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). To make matters worse, I developed severe left-hand pain after switching to left-handed mousing. These debilitating conditions forced me to seek labor-intensive jobs like loading and unloading in UPS warehouses and bookstores, as I struggled to find work that didn’t aggravate my hand pain.

However, my journey took a new turn when I started suffering from severe back pain. It was a disheartening moment, as I found myself unable to work in traditional office settings due to hand pain and unable to perform physically demanding tasks due to chronic back pain. Determined to find a solution, I dedicated years to studying and researching related fields, driven by my own experiences.

In 2009, I designed the revolutionary Rockstick mouse, the world’s first mouse that allowed users to click using their arm instead of their fingers. This innovative design earned the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2014 and provided relief for individuals suffering from CTS.

Building upon this success, I went on to design the Newtral ergonomic mouse series (1, 2, and 3), as well as the Semi-Vertical ergonomic mouse, catering to the needs of ergonomic enthusiasts worldwide. Our client list includes renowned names such as Goldtouch, Office Relieve, Backshop, Chevron, Oracle, and even Apple (yes, it’s true, Apple has its own mouse, but it lacked the ergonomic qualities of the Newtral mouse).

One significant milestone for the Newtral mouse was the EMG research conducted by Professor Erik Peper, which demonstrated a remarkable reduction in hand muscle strain of up to 30%. This scientific validation further solidified our commitment to providing ergonomic solutions that prioritize the health and well-being of our users.
