The Story//

“VROOM VROOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!”– That specific sound with passion, excitement, and dedication is exactly what we heard when this design came to our mind. Back in the 70s, the Canadian-American Challenge Cup (Can-AM) was a talk of the town event and frankly, a true legend of all time. Starting with 2 races in Canada and 4 races in America, sports car racing had no restrictions on engine capacity allowing the widest innovation. It was all about the speed and the noise. We are talking about some top road-racing drivers on the planet including Formula 1 champion racers driving cars that could only exist in dreams. Two-seat car with no rivals in terms of power, speed, and appeal.

With an intention to revive such a level of design creativity and human wildness, and to salute the brightly colored racing cars, we have created this F/01 Automatic Watch

CASE//

Inspired by the 70s retro racing cars, the case is specially made with an asymmetry design. The cars were usually with a narrower front than the body. The dimension for the upper half from the center of the case to 12 o’clock is different from the lower half to resemble the special and unique curve in racing cars.

The case ear is designed with a double-domed Sapphire crystal to mirror the flowing curves and curved surfaces of race cars. Users could quickly set the sub-dial month hand located at 3 o’clock with the hidden pusher at 2 o’clock of the case.

HANDS//

Referencing the speedometer on the Dashboard of the retro racing cars, the hour and minute hands of F/01 are coated with more than 5 layers of Swiss Super-Luminova to ensure legibility even in darkness, just like the dashboard of the motor. The hour and minute hands are framed with color lines. It helps with reading the time more easily and creates a more eye-catching 70s vibe.

CROWN//

The crown was designed based on the appearance of the rim and engine parts of race cars. To create a design with such a high level of complexity, the crown consists of three parts that are made of Aluminum. Brighter orange and red could be achieved with this material together with the electrolytic coloring process.

DESIGN + QUALITY//

We spare no expense while thinking about the watch specification. Quality and the final result are what we are striving for. Premium level Miyota Japanese movement with Sapphire Crystal is our basic requirement. 42mm case diameter, 47.5mm Lug to Lug size – the perfect ergonomic ratio, fulfilling the needs of most users.

MOVEMENT//

F/01 is powered by the automatic movement of Japan’s MIYOTA 9122. This movement belongs to the Premium series and carries a 40-hour Power. The gorgeous Geneve Pattern is etched on the smooth surfaces of the watch baseplate or other parts. It is complemented by a custom-printed Rotor (light blue/red) that adds a strong sporty element to the F/01.

The movement is multi-function. In addition to the general Date display at 6 o’clock, the sub-dial at 3 o’clock is the Month display while the Sub-dial at 9 o’clock is the Day display.

BUCKLE//

Following the retro caring car shape of an unusually narrow front track and rear track in traditional size, the buckle has a similar curve and is fully polished with sandblasting effect. It pops up the chamfer line of the buckle and makes the buckle even more eye-catching. Coupled with the signature F/01 logo etching, the buckle is totally iconic and unique. We dare you to find a similar design in the market.

LEATHER STRAP//

Two different types of leather are used for the strap. One is a special textured leather with a burst pattern, while another is a dyed vegetable-tanning leather. Both types of leather are imported from Italy. The strap is held by two-color loops with color stitching to emphasize the sporty style and elements. The “F/01” Logo is imprinted on the tail and bottom of the strap via hot-stamping, reminding wearers of the leather sport seat in a race car.

Quick-release spring bars allow wearers to quickly change belts in the most convenient way.

WARRANTY//

One (1) year warranty from the date of receiving your OVD watch. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects.

PACKAGING//

The packaging box is made of special paper accompanied by an inner velvet pillow. The double-door rigid box is delicately designed with dual colors to echo the 2 tones of race cars in the 70s. Watch lovers will definitely fall in love with F01 at the very first sight.

TIMELINE//

Strictly following the delivery schedule has always been our mission. With our experience in completing more than 10 deliveries on time and working with suppliers who have a good cooperative relationship with us, we are confident that we will once again, complete all processes of this production on time.

From the design concept to the final prototype, it took us more than half a year to complete the development. The most complicated part of this journey would be the case and crown parts. We had to do different versions of prototypes just to find out the perfect combination. Quality and design don’t just come easily.
