Compact. Waterproof. With a lifetime warranty. Made from recycled bottles to stop ocean pollution.

Story

*Backers will vote on logo design and positioning before the campaign ends.

As experienced adventurers, we were frustrated with bulky jackets that take up precious backpack space.

That’s why we created the PANGEA Eco Jacket to be lightweight and compact.

The only jacket you need for any adventure around the world.

Any manufacturing defects are covered for life. Ship it to our warehouse and we will repair it or replace it, free of charge. Then, we’ll repurpose your old jacket.

If your jacket breaks from wear and tear, it won’t end up in a landfill. We will repair it for free, you only pay for shipping.

Any materials not used will be recycled or repurposed.

All the rain jackets release micro-plastics since they are made with plastic (Nylon/Polyester).

Our mailers are home compostable. In a healthy compost pile they can breakdown in as little as two months.

For every $10 you purchase, we will clean up four pounds of trash through our global cleanups.

However, just cleaning up trash isn’t enough to solve the problem.

We need an innovative solution—and we found one that works.

We are solving this by placing floating barriers that stop the trash before it reaches our oceans.

Thanks to our River Barriers we’ve already neutralized three rivers—making PANGEA the fastest moving and most effective eco-brand to stop ocean pollution.

Inspired by the concept created by Plastic Fischer, and the work of Sungai Watch in Bali, we are placing river barriers in the tributaries of the 1000 most polluting rivers in the world to drastically reduce their plastic pollution.

Trash from the barriers is being sorted and classified to gather the data of the materials and the biggest polluting companies and products. The trash data reports will be utilized to drive long-term change. The plastics will be sent to Bali, washed, and recycled into new PANGEA products or Recycled Plastic Bricks. The remaining trash will be sent to recycling centers and composting centers when possible. The remaining waste that cannot be recycled or repurposed will be discarded properly at legal landfills to ensure it doesn’t end up in the ocean.

Trash from our global cleanups is sorted and sent to local recycling organizations when possible or discarded properly at legal landfills for now.

This time, with the new PANGEA Eco Jacket, we want to go bigger and expand our barriers to more islands in Indonesia and the Philippines, and tackle the most polluting rivers in the world!

With your help, we can stem the tide of ocean plastic—one jacket at a time.

Once the campaign is successfully completed, we will send out a survey via BackerKit to choose your size and color.

Shipping will be charged after the campaign finishes on a platform called Backerkit.

**VAT/Customs must be paid by you once the parcel arrives at your destination country. You’ll be notified via SMS and Email. This doesn’t apply to the USA.

– Currently, about 20% of the waste our barriers collect is organic. Instead of sending organic waste to landfill, our goal is to build and manage a community composting system.

– Overly dirty plastics collected by our barriers are sent to landfill. By investing in cleaning equipment we will collect 2-3 times as much recyclable material in our barriers.

– A significant portion of plastics recovered in our barriers are non-recyclable. By investing in a shredder we will be able to re-use non-recyclable materials for other products.

– Non-recyclable plastics can be re-used by forming them into bricks that are competitive in price and longevity to clay bricks. So far, we have placed 14 river barriers in Padang, Indonesia.

– With 2,000 backers we can fund the maintenance of our barriers and keep three of the world’s historically dirtiest rivers clean.

– We would love to expand our river barrier model to the Philippines and clean up more of the world’s dirtiest rivers.

We are an eco brand and movement founded by Marcos, William, and Juan: three travelers who met while backpacking in Mexico in 2018. We teamed up to explore the world together, and after seeing so much pollution on our planet, we decided to start organizing cleanups and use Kickstarter as a force for good to fight the problem.

Together we can change the world and save our planet!
