We created the Meta Shell because most rain jackets feel like wearing a trash bag. They are hot, they are crinkly, don’t breathe, wrinkle, look terrible, are uncomfortable to wear, and don’t move with your body. We were tired of having to carry something that didn’t meet our standards, so we completely rethought how a rain jacket was built.

When we set out to create a rain jacket as dynamic as your adventures, we knew we had to start from the fiber up.  The Meta Shell uses our advanced, custom 3-Layer Meta Cloth. The 3-layer fabric combines 3 unique layers to redefine the performance of a rain shell.

 

The outer layer is a dense, 4-way stretch knit polyester, with a matt face. It’s durable while creating a soft and quiet look that stretches in every direction. The interior 4-way stretch polyurethane membrane is bonded to the exterior fabrics. The unique 4-way stretch membrane keeps rain and wind out and allows heat and moisture to escape.  Finally, The interior layer is a soft, 4-way stretch polyester jersey built to wick moisture.

Meta Cloth is built to breathe freely, quietly move with the body, and keep you comfortable even in the wettest conditions. The Meta Shell is ready for the broadest temperature ranges and activities. Meta Cloth is Bluesign-approved and vegan for a more sustainable world.

This is NOT your average rain jacket! The Meta Shell has been designed and crafted from the yarn level up to perform, look great, and feel great in every scenario, no matter the weather or occasion. The Meta Shell is designed and sized for a flattering and slimming, yet comfortable fit. Please refer to the size chart for specific garment measurements by size. 

 

 

*Please note: The size chart refers to the actual garment measurements of the product. In order to get the best fit, the garment measurements should be 1-2″ LARGER than your body measurements to allow for the “wrap” of the fabric.

When necessary, wash with like colors and mild detergent on cold. Line dry or tumble dry low. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, as these chemicals will damage coloring and water resistance.

 

Reactivating Water Resistance: Over time, the water resistance may appear to wear down. Reactivate it with a quick tumble in the dryer on low or by applying a tech wash.

 

Avoid oils and grease, as they will permanently damage the water-repellent treatment and possibly stain the piece.

 

 

 

 

We work with a vertically-integrated manufacturer that provides a fully transparent and ethical supply chain from the yarn to the finished pant. They have decades of experience working with performance fabrics at the highest standards, including Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) standards and Bluesign.

Our team has a combined 60 years of experience manufacturing the highest quality performance clothing. In addition to running five successful Kickstarter campaigns, we have brought hundreds of styles to market for 100,000+ customers. We have our manufacturers lined up and ready to go with trusted suppliers. We know what we’re doing and you should be confident that we will deliver what we promise when we say we will.

We have dealt with our fair share of manufacturing hiccups and always deal with them in a transparent responsible way to keep our customers not just happy with their products but also proud to support us. Should any issues come up, you can be confident we will handle them with transparency and the utmost care for you, our backers.

Supply Chain:

We’re incredibly proud of our supply chain, and have a lot of confidence that we can make what we say we’ll make when we say we’ll make it. But sometimes things happen. Like fabric delays due to the yarn being stuck in customs. We add time padding for these events, but sometimes it is not enough. If anything should arrive we will get through it together.
