Story

Thank you for the incredible response to the Arctic thus far. We sincerely value our watch community, and based on the feedback we have received, we have decided to remove “Sellita SW200” from the Arctic dial, and “Field” will replace “Explorer” in our typesetting on the Arctic dial for production.

The modular box holds an Arctic watch, Saffiano leather strap, H-link titanium bracelet, suede leather watch pouch, double-ended watch tool, stainless steel 2-year warranty card.

The Arctic Field watch is a 38mm titanium, field-style watch for men and women. The choice of the natural meteorite dial represents Greenlands Hiawatha Glacier – the first meteorite impact crater ever discovered under Earth’s ice sheets. We use Grade-A Swiss Super-Luminova on our signature hour and minute hands, Arctic hunting-tool seconds hand, and dial indices for low light legibility. The case back features an original engraving of the polar bear on our signature pattern, symbolic of the harsh environment and enduring spirit of the Arctic. Powered by the precision of Sellita’s Swiss SW200, it wears comfortably on our Saffiano strap, drawing on the heritage of using leather straps in cold conditions.

A TOOL WATCH INSPIRED BY LESSER-KNOWN ADVENTURERS.

The Arctic pays homage to Peter Freuchen, the six-foot-seven Danish explorer, author, and anthropologist. In 1906, he abandoned studying medicine to explore the arctic, live, hunt, and travel with the Inuit for over two decades. He married an Inuit woman but lost her to the Spanish flu in 1921. During this time, he survived an attack by a polar bear and escaped an ice cave he had been frozen into during a blizzard by chiseling his way out using an improvised ice pick fashioned from his frozen feces. He lost a leg to frostbite and amputated his gangrenous toes himself. During the Second World War, he joined the Danish resistance against German occupation, aided refugees against the Nazis, earning him imprisonment and a death sentence from which he escaped. During his life, he wrote 30 books, received an Oscar, and was awarded the Gold Medal of the International Benjamin Franklin Society for his “service to mankind in opening new frontiers.”

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS

Sustainability forms the basis of our watches, and we are committed to setting an ethical example in the watch industry by producing premium and sustainable items.

LONG-LASTING DESIGN

Our watches are made from titanium and utilize automatic movements that require no batteries. With proper care, they will outlast the lifespan of the wearer.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS, REUSABILITY, AND RECYCLABILITY

We strive to infuse each stage of our design and production process with a positive influence and find sustainable solutions to wasteful production by incorporating overstock and recyclable materials to emphasize durability and an extended lifespan. We actively work with our manufacturing partners across our supply chain to improve consumption while reducing emissions and waste.

Tool Watch Co. has engineered environmentally-friendly foam packaging. It is non-toxic, lightweight, impact-resistant and, 100% recyclable. Its core purpose is to offset the CO2 generated by shipping heavier items of the same size and reducing non-recyclable waste.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FACTORIES

Environmental impact and ethical treatment of humans and animals are an integral part of all our design, development, and production processes at Tool Watch Co.

We are actively working with our manufacturing partners across our supply chain to improve consumption while reducing emissions and waste.
