Chez Amandine – Animal + Herb Sanctuary

I’m Amandine, Tea Alchemist, Intuitive Business Mentor for CEOs, Founder & CEO of Bloem & Moi, and soon-to-be owner of Chez Amandine – Animal & Herb Sanctuary.

Chez Amandine has been a lifelong dream of mine, to give animals (farm animals in particular, but not only) a better/second life. 

I grew up with animals (cats, hamsters, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, one actual pig at one point, tortoises…) and have always felt a special connection to them. It wasn’t a surprise when I discovered the scientific findings linking animals to improved mental health in humans, nor when I first heard the benefits of zootherapy.

My vision for Chez Amandine has always been clear: nature, peace, privacy, to create a safe haven for animals and humans alike. A sanctuary to welcome animals in need, to grow organic herbs and other botanicals, and to host fellow humans in need of an inspiring place to retreat to and connect with nature, whether for a herbal tea workshop, a weekend or a self-care retreat. 

 

Help me make Chez Amandine a reality

I’ve found the perfect place to make Chez Amandine a reality. It’s a gorgeous property in the hills of Valencia, Spain, that is everything I envisioned it to be: peaceful, with animals (and existing facilities!), a beautiful wooden Madera cabin to welcome visitors almost immediately, a superb main house (in need of interior renovations), 300 olive trees (and many other trees), extra fields to add vegetables and herbs, and extra land to develop the hosting and retreat side with eco-houses.

Thanks to your contribution, we can make Chez Amandine a dream-come-true and start welcoming our first animal residents by June 1st (some of them are already on the property and will be staying). This will include 3 rescue goats, 2 donkeys, ducks, geese, one horse, chickens and cats.

The Impact

Chez Amandine will provide a safe, loving home for animals in need, and a peaceful retreat space for humans. I want to bring my core values of compassion, courage and curiosity into this project, and to keep contributing to the world I want to see and leave behind.

It’s important for me to give back to the community, and Chez Amandine will open its doors to children in need and offer zootherapy. 

By securing this property I will be able to get started right away (from June 1st) and to make an impact immediately, with your support.

 

 

What will the money be used for?

I’ve divided this campaign in 3 phases to ensure we can make this happen. The funds will be used in this order of priority:

Phase 1 – securing the property + welcoming animals €58,888

• Remainder of the deposit to secure the property, including fees €39,230
• Indiegogo Platform + Payment Processing Fees €4,911.04
• First Renovations €11,223.67
• Immediate animal care + facilities’ maintenance: €3,523.29

Phase 2 – renovating the property + caring for the animals for a year €49,999

• 1 year of animal care + facilities’ maintenance and improvement €23,416.94
• Indiegogo Platform + Payment Processing Fees €4,099.92
• Wooden structure for an indoor-outdoor experience, where retreats, classes (yoga, herbal workshops, tea ceremonies, and more) will be hosted €22,482.14

​Phase 3 – developing the property + inviting more humans €38,888

• First Eco-house for an immersive experience in nature €30,000
• Indiegogo Platform + Payment Processing Fees €3,193.28
• Further property improvements €5,694.72

 

In order to secure the property and make Chez Amandine happen, I have until June 1st 2023 to pay the money (see Phase 1). The crowdfunding campaign ends one month before that because the platform takes 3 weeks to send the funds. After the campaign ends, if the Phase 1 goal (now €49,999) hasn’t been reached, I will be completing with financing (I’m still exploring my options, from microloans to investors). The goal is to raise as much as possible through crowdfunding, but the campaign is not the end of the road. Together we are making Chez Amandine happen!
