Hello Austin-Area musicians! 

We know that it’s no big secret that finding quality rehearsal space in the area is difficult. Hourly practice rooms are scarce and usually fully-booked in advance, and long-term rentals are either non-existent or incredibly expensive. And even if you do happen to stumble upon a place to permanently store your gear, the safety and security of that equipment is always in the back of your mind when you close the door behind you when you leave. 

As a musician who has been in bands for over 30 years, I’ve seen my fair share of practice spaces and always thought “This place would be perfect if it only had ______”. Well, we’ve launched something new with all of those “blanks” filled in!

Jezza’s Place is a brand-new, state-of-the-art, and highly-secure Rehearsal and Recording Studio Experience designed with solo artists, bands, and private music teachers in mind. We  use a hybrid approach to room rental, allowing for both hourly/daily rentals as well as long-term rooms with 3-, 6-, and 12-month contracts.

We officially opened “Phase One” of our deployment in November of 2023, which consists of six modestly-sized Rehearsal Rooms as a “Proof of Concept” before moving forward with renovations and construction to fully utilize the 3,600 square feet in the entire building.

We are looking forward to getting started with “Phase Two“, which will include:

• Retrofitting some existing rehearsal rooms to increase size
• New LARGE rehearsal spaces
• Improved soundproofing and in-room sound dampening
• Upgraded track lighting in all rehearsal rooms
• Upgraded HVAC
• Rentable on-site lockers and equipment storage
• And, of course, the much-anticipated Recording Studio!

The Recording Studio will have its own private entrance, break room, storage area, vending machines, and we are working out details on many other perks (for example, complementary massage from a Licensed Massage Therapist!). 

 

Why Are We Hosting This Fundraiser?

As a newly-launched startup, Jezza’s Place falls into that weird category of “needing capital to get fully up and running” and “not yet generating enough revenue to qualify for a Small Business Loan”. 

In order to get the doors opened to the public, initial renovations were paid for out-of-pocket as a “proof of concept”. This meant that we were only able to launch with 20% of the building ready for customer use. 

Obviously, rent and utilities are still due for 100% of the building, so we’re asking for help to get this place up to its fullest potential. 

We have determined that total funds needed to get this going is around $150,000. Every penny raised will cover renovations and soundproofing costs, help with purchasing all of the necessary equipment, as well as help cover employee salaries while we get fully up and running.

While every donation of any amount helps and will be appreciated, we have decided to incentivize larger donation amounts by splitting them up into tiers. These tiers are as follows:

 

Donor Tier ($5 – $99):

You, your business, or your band’s name prominently displayed on a “Founder’s Plaque” in the Main Security Entrance

 

Founder Tier ($100 – $499):

You, your business, or your band’s name prominently displayed on a “Founder’s Plaque” in the Main Security Entrance,

You get a limited-edition “Founder’s T-shirt”, and

Permanent VIP “Front of the Line Priority” on any available rehearsal room rental (see FAQ for details)

 

Angel Tier ($500 – $999):

You, your business, or your band’s name prominently displayed on a “Founder’s Plaque” in the Main Security Entrance,

You get a limited-edition “Founder’s T-shirt”,

Permanent VIP “Front of the Line Priority” on any available rehearsal room rental (see FAQ for details),

THREE free sessions of a Short-Term Rehearsal Room rental, and

Your band’s artwork/logo permanently displayed in the hallway

 

Captain Tier ($1000 – $4999):

You, your business, or your band’s name prominently displayed on a “Founder’s Plaque” in the Main Security Entrance,

You get a limited-edition “Founder’s T-shirt”,

Permanent VIP “Front of the Line Priority” on any available rehearsal room rental (see FAQ for details),

Your band’s artwork/logo permanently displayed in the hallway,

THREE free months of a Long-Term Rehearsal Room rental, and

We will permanently name a room after you or your band (with a placard and your band’s logo on the door)!

 

Admiral Tier ($5000 and up):

You, your business, or your band’s name prominently displayed on a “Founder’s Plaque” in the Main Security Entrance,

You get a limited-edition “Founder’s T-shirt”,

Permanent VIP “Front of the Line Priority” on any available rehearsal room rental (see FAQ for details),

Your band’s artwork/logo permanently displayed in the hallway,

THREE free months of a Long-Term Rehearsal Room rental,

THREE free days of recording studio use, and

We will permanently name a room after you or your band (with a placard and your band’s logo on the door)!
