The Plufl is more than just a human-sized dog bed. Through many prototypes and iterations, we have meticulously crafted and designed the Plufl with premium materials to deliver an experience like no other. 

Its features include a thick pillow border for users to tuck their hands and feet into, an orthopedic memory foam that provides ample support, and a soft, luxurious faux fur that is calming to the touch. Its oval shape cradles you into a natural fetal sleeping position that will have you sleeping like a baby in no time.

What Makes a Plufl?

The Plufl is constructed with a multilayered orthopedic and memory foam base, and the pillow bolster is made of a blend of natural cotton and poly fibers. We use ethically sourced, high-quality materials to ensure we deliver our promise of an enhanced napping experience. It comes in an easy-to-remove, machine-washable case so you don’t have to worry about any accidents!

The first batch of Plufls will come in a one-size-fits-all model which comfortably fits users up to 6′ 4” based on our testing. Our future models will offer multiple sizes to cozy up any individual regardless of size.

One of our primary goals with the Plufl is to bring more attention to the benefits of napping has in improving our health and wellness. For example, did you know that a 20-minute power nap can improve productivity by 34% and alertness by 100%? Naps are also proven to regulate cortisol (the primary stress hormone) and promote faster immune recovery. Additionally, a 90-minute nap has the same cognitive benefits as 8 hours of sleep, making it a great tool to catch up on lost sleep.

We understand your napping needs because we’re avid nappers too. With Plufl, our mission is to enhance the human napping experience and provide an amazing product that helps you relax and destress.

Plufl co-founders Noah and Yuki met at the University of British Columbia in 2018 where they immediately clicked upon their shared passion for entrepreneurship, dogs, and most importantly napping. At University, Noah and Yuki spent a lot of time at their local college coffee shop. There they saw a Great Dane napping in a giant dog bed,  sparking the idea behind Plufl. We are beyond excited for everyone to experience their creation and join their nap journey to make the world a happier and more rested place 🙂

Risks and challenges

The final prototype has been tried and tested by over 50 people! We have incorporated feedback and iterated the product to be optimized to deliver the optimal napping experience. We are confident we can fulfill all the pledges but there may always be unforeseen issues that arise during the process.

Shipping: The Plufl is a large product and we want to make sure that we can ship to all our backers. Thus, we are choosing to begin by only shipping to Canada and the United States. We are so excited to have backers from across the world and our eventual goal is to make the Plufl a worldwide product. We hope to fulfill orders within 5 months following the campaign but based on the nature of a product-based business, there may be uncertainties in the shipping process that might cause delays.

Supply: Our Plufls will soon be ready to be produced but there may be unexpected supply chain issues as we internationally source our products so we hope to have your patience if any issues arise. We have also received more pre-orders than expected so our production process may take longer than originally anticipated.
