The remastered edition of the classic 1986 issue by Dave Sim, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

Story

1977: Dave Sim published Cerebus the Aardvark #1, the book and series would transform the landscape of independent comics publishing forever.

1984: Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, launching the series that was a global phenomenon by the end of the decade.

1986: Eastman & Laird teamed up with Sim, bringing Cerebus (one of the hottest books at the time) to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #8. This Turtles/Cerebus team-up was arguably the comics event of 1986, and the best selling Turtles book to date, selling more than 100,000 copies! If 80s comics had rock stars, these 3 guys would have sold out a week at the Garden!

2023: For the first time ever, Dave Sim (in collaboration with Waverly Comics) is producing his own updated version of this popular, classic book! This thick, 48-page double sized issue features painstakingly remastered art by master digital archivist Sean Michael Robinson, printed on premium paper for the best possible reproduction. Don’t miss the comics event of 1986 all over again in 2023!

This release will sit alongside the rarest issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ever published with most of the variant covers having print runs ranging from only 100 to 250 copies each.

Cerebus creator Dave Sim has created 4 new covers including his own updated homage to Kevin Eastman’s original 1986 wraparound cover!

Some of the brightest names in contemporary comics have created new T8 variant covers for this release. Most of the variant covers have fixed print runs ranging for 100-250 copies each, and due the the limited quantity we are only offering Dave Sim’s covers as base options. The additional variant covers are available as add-ons and we are limiting sales of most of those to 20 copies each since we have already pre-sold so many.

We are also offering trading cards sets which are even more limited than the books. The “75 More Sleeps” set collects all 75 cards created by Dave Sim during the run up to this project. The “Visions of Turtles 8” card set consists of 15 very limited cards by some cool artists including Michael Dooney, Sam Heimer, Kyle Hotz and Samuel G. Wolfe, among others.

If you like original art, then you can pick up one of Dave Sim’s hand drawn trading cards from the “75 More Sleeps” trading card set. We only have a few left and these will be distributed at random. The actual card you receive will be similar to these examples shown. We are offering these pieces of original art at a deep discount just for this campaign.

For those of you looking for signed books, we are offering a set of 2 different T8 bookplates, hand signed and numbered by Cerebus creator Dave Sim.

We have a limited number of the Platinum Foil and Blank logo covers. The Ashcan Preview (center) was published in November, 2022 and this variant was limited to 150 copies.

The remastered and expanded Cerebus 1 and 2 both feature new, updated covers by Dave Sim. Both variants are limited to just 600 copies each!d Enamel pins, super cool!
